Templates Preferences

The Templates preferences enable you to do the following: Select specific templates to include in the Preferred list of templates in the Select Template window. Set up a default template for new encounters and for the Workflow module Appointments window. Assign a 3-dimensional view to read-only template fields. For more information on templates, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Templates User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR . Medical Records Preferences

Use the Medical Records preferences to set up the default provider and location. When the preferences are saved, the selected location and provider are retained the next time when you open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If the location and provider have not been set, when you log on, the Select Location window opens followed by the Select Provider window. These windows also appear if the location and provider are blank when you perform a patient lookup (select the Patient button or Select Patient from the File menu). You can select a different provider for the same location or a different location for the same provider, or change both the location and provider. You can also filter provider selection by the associated location. Change User Preferences

You can change many of the default user preferences within NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open Preferences window. Select the tab that contains the preferences to change. Change the preference in the selected tab. Select Apply. Depending on your selections, a warning message may appear, informing you that the preference changes are not in effect until the next time you open the application. Select OK to close the message. Select OK to accept the changes you have made and exit from the Preferences window. To exit without saving changes, select Cancel. Parent topic: User Preferences

Assign External Provider Reference URLs at the User Level

NextGen® Enterprise EHR allows you to assign your own External Provider Reference URLs that override the URLs set up in the Practice Preferences in File Maintenance. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the Tools menu, select Preferences. On the Preferences window, select the Reference tab. In the External Provider Reference section, enter the URLs of the websites in the respective fields for the following modules: Diagnosis & Problem Modules Procedure Module Medication Module Medication Allergy Module Order Module - Lab Results Select Apply and then select OK.
