Set Up a Private Results Filter

To create private filters when working with completed results, you must first set it up. Select File Maintenance > System > EHR > Practices > Orders Module. Select Lab/Rad. Setting Up Required fields for Order Processing

For more efficient order processing and best clinical practices, your practice may need to set up certain fields as required. For example, your practice wants the Diagnosis field to be required when ordering a lab or radiology test. The NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders module enables you to select fields as required in File Maintenance Practice Preferences. Required fields can be set up for all of the order types, that is, Lab, Radiology, and Immunizations. Once you set up these fields as required, they will display in Red on the appropriate Orders or Immunizations window, when you add or update an existing order. Before an order can be saved, users must ensure that these required fields have been entered or selected. Set Up Practice Preferred Performing Entities

Using File Maintenance Practice Preference settings, you can select a default value for the performing entity to use for both lab tests and radiology orders for a selected practice. You can also set up In-House Performing Entity by which the laboratory and diagnostic order items mapped to this entity are displayed in the list of Common Orders in NextGen® Enterprise CPOE. Select File Maintenance > System > Practices. Select a practice. Select Preferences. Select Order module in the Preference List. To display the Lab or Radiology performing entities, select the Open Record button. The list of performing entities appears. Using the right and left arrows, select the Lab and Radiology performing entities. In the Performing Entities window, select OK. Select the Lab Preferred Performing Entity and the In-House Performing Entity from the list. Select the Radiology Preferred Performing Entity and the In-House Performing Entity from the list. Select Delegates to View Confidential Lab Results

Providers can choose delegates (non-providers) to view confidential labs when working in the Orders module. To select delegates, you must first set up the Allow Confidential Lab Delegates practice preference in File Maintenance > Practice > Preferences > Orders Module > Lab/Rad tab. For more information on setting up this practice preference, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Orders Module Setup Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. As the logged-on provider, select Lab Delegate on the Results tab Filters bar. The Select Confidential Lab Delegate(s) window appears. Select a user or group, and select Add to move the delegates to the Selected Delegates section. Select OK. View Lab Results

Before you begin You must ensure that you have the necessary access rights in System Administrator for the Orders Module. For more information on user access rights, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. You can view the results of a patient's laboratory tests. Additionally, you can open the Orders Module and view the order details associated with a result. For more information on the Orders Module, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Orders Module User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window.
