Set Up Confidential Lab Results Delegates

Practices can set up the Allow Confidential Lab Delegates practice preference to enable other users or groups (non-providers) to view confidential lab results. Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > EHR > Practices > Preferences > Orders Module. Select Lab/Rad tab. Select Allow Confidential Lab Delegates. Select OK. Note: For more information about selecting users or groups to view the confidential lab results, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Selecting Delegates to View Confidential Lab Results. View Lab Results

Before you begin You must ensure that you have the necessary access rights in System Administrator for the Orders Module. For more information on user access rights, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. You can view the results of a patient's laboratory tests. Additionally, you can open the Orders Module and view the order details associated with a result. For more information on the Orders Module, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Orders Module User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. On the Quick Buttons panel, select Lab Results.The Review Patient Results window opens displaying a report of all completed laboratory tests in a flow sheet format, that includes the date and time of the specimens associated with an order collected,test name, and result for the test name. Customize the Initial Tab View in the Orders Module

When you open the Orders module, the Results tab appears by default. You can set up a user preference to display a different tab as the default. For more information on Orders user preferences, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Layout and Preferences Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Main menu, select Tools > Preferences. The Preferences window opens. In the General tab, under the Orders section, in the Initial View list, select one of the following: Results Flowsheet Orders Summary Immun - Chart Immun - Recommendation Immun - Registry Select Apply and then OK. View Combined Results Using LOINC

In the Orders module, select the Results tab. On the Results tab, select NextGen Description from the View Results by list. Select the Show Only Results check box in the Results tab Top toolbar. The results from these tests combine in the display on the same line in the Results flow sheet. Note: You can set user preferences to use NextGen Description as the default labs result view and to View Results Only. Configure Resulted Lab Tests

The configured lab result appears in the Result Details picklist for Order Management. OpenNextGen® Enterprise EHR. From theFilemenu, selectSystem \ Practice Template. TheSelect Templatewindow opens. Select Configuration Home, and then click OK. The Custom DB Picklist template opens. Select Coded lab order result DB picklist. Click Configure. The Custom DBPicklist Setup window, the grid displays the existing code system, code value, and result. To add the code system and its value, do the following: Click Add New List Item. The Add button is enabled. To add a code system, enter the code type in the Code System field. To add the result details, enter the appropriate value in the Result field. To add code value, enter the numeric value in the Code Value field. Click Add. The added lab result details appear in the grid. To update a record, select and edit the record, and then click Update. Orders Module Main Tabs

When you access the Order Module window, three tabs appear: Results Displays lab and radiology test results for the current patient. The Results tab is displayed as the initial tab by default. You can set up user preferences to change the initial tab display. Orders Summary View orders for all or selected order types for the current patient. You can change existing orders and place new orders. Immunizations Order and track any vaccines given to a patient.
