Set Up Auto Release Practice Preferences
- Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > EHR > Practices > Preferences > Orders Module.
- Select All tab.
- Double-click your practice.
The Modify Practice Information window opens.
- Select Preferences.
- Select Orders Module from the Preference List.
The Orders tab opens. The Auto Release options display on the All tab.
- Select the Auto Release Task Group to receive the notification that the order has been auto released, if necessary.
- Select your practice's Auto Release Option to use the Auto Release function from the list:
- Opt-in. Select this option if your practice chooses to use the Auto Release function.
Note: If you select this Opt-in option, when creating Future and Recurring orders the Automatically release this order when it is due check box is enabled. However, you must select the check box to indicate that the specific order is be auto released.
- Opt-out. Select this option if your practice does not choose to use the Auto Release function.
Note: If you select the Opt-out option, when creating Future and Recurring orders, the Automatically release this order when it is due check box is disabled and read only.
- Opt-in Default to Auto Release. Select this option to indicate the following:
- Your practice chooses to use the Auto Release function
- Recurring and Future orders are defaulted as selected for auto release (that is, the Automatically release this order when it is due check box is selected.)
- Opt-in. Select this option if your practice chooses to use the Auto Release function.
- Enter the Future/Recurring Order expires date, if necessary.
Note: The default is 15 months. You can change this default, if necessary.
- Enter the number of days that the system automatically releases the Recurring and Future orders before the scheduled due date.
Enter 3 to indicate that orders should be automatically released 3 days before the scheduled due date.Note: The default is 7 days.
- To save your preferences, select OK.
Note: After you set up the Auto Release utility, if you change the number of days the orders should be automatically released in the File Maintenance Auto Release Orders Due in preference, you must restart the Auto Release utility.
