Set Up Orders Module Practice Preferences

Open File Maintenance and select System > Practices. Double-click a pratice. In the Modify Practice Information window, select Preferences and then select the Orders Module. There are several check boxes to set preferences for printing, the use of the NextGen Compendium, and other settings. There are additional preferences associated with the Orders module that can be set for your practice. Set Up Auto Release

To enable Auto Release function in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you must perform the following steps: Set up the Auto Release practice preferences in File Maintenance. Note: If your practice does not intend to use Auto Release, you can indicate that in the Auto Release Opt-out practice preference and stop at this step. In System Administrator > Operations > Orders > Allow Interface Send, enable Send Orders to Interface. In System Administrator > Operations, enable Allow access to Auto Release application. To set up the time the Future or Recurring orders are to be auto released before the scheduled date, access the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders Auto Release utility (file name: NextGen.EMR.Lab.AutoRelease.exe). and set up the actual time the Future and Recurring orders the selected practice. Set Up Auto Release Practice Preferences

Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > EHR > Practices > Preferences > Orders Module. Select All tab. Double-click your practice. The Modify Practice Information window opens. Select Preferences. Select Orders Module from the Preference List. The Orders tab opens. The Auto Release options display on the All tab. Select the Auto Release Task Group to receive the notification that the order has been auto released, if necessary. Select your practice's Auto Release Option to use the Auto Release function from the list: Opt-in. Select this option if your practice chooses to use the Auto Release function. Note: If you select this Opt-in option, when creating Future and Recurring orders the Automatically release this order when it is due check box is enabled. However, you must select the check box to indicate that the specific order is be auto released. Opt-out. Select this option if your practice does not choose to use the Auto Release function. Setting Up and Working with Future and Recurring Orders

For Lab and Radiology order types, you can set up schedules for future and recurring orders, as follows: Set schedules for recurring and future orders when creating a new lab or radiology order. Quickly display the recurring and future orders schedule from the Orders Summary tab for review. Reschedule recurring and future order from the Orders Summary tab. Note: You can also reschedule recurring and future orders from the Orders Management order control on a custom practice template for multiple patients in a practice. Update the due date for test results. Note: You can track and update the Expect Results date for future and recurring orders. If your practice has set up the Auto Release function in File Maintenance, you can use this function to "mark" future and recurring orders for automatic release. Run the NextGen Orders Auto Release Utility on Demand

After you set up the Orders Auto Release Utility, you can automatically release the Recurring and Future orders on demand. From the Windows® System Tray/Notification area, double-click the NextGen EHR Orders Auto Release utility icon. In the Instance list, select the appropriate Instance Name. Select Details. The Details window opens, displaying the scheduled run time. To override the scheduled run time and run the Auto Release immediately, select Run Now. The orders are automatically release. Select the Close (X) button. Note: Auto releasing orders on demand does not change the original Auto Release set up time.
