Set up a Private or Practice Orders Filter
To set up a new private or practice orders filter, follow this workflow:
Create the filter, name it, and add an optional tooltip.
Select the commands to display on the
Orders Summary
or
Orders Management Top
toolbar.
Select the columns to display on the
Orders Summary
or
Orders Management
grid.
Select one or more order types (lab, radiology, or immunizations).
You must select at least one order type to filter orders. After you select the order type(s), you can apply or save the filter.
Select the order statuses.
Select the date criteria.
Select providers and locations for lab, radiology, and immunizations orders.
Select performing entities for lab and radiology orders.
If required, enter test descriptions for lab and radiology orders.

Select the Orders Filter Order Types, Order Status, and Date Context

Update a Private or Practice Orders Filter
You can change the display information or data for a private or practice filter. You cannot change a pre-defined filter. Do one of the following: On the Filters bar in the Orders panel of the Orders Summary tab, select Manage Filters. On the Filters bar in your custom Practice template with an Orders Management order control, select Manage Filters. The Set Orders Summary Filters window opens, with the Display tab for the All filter in view. Select the filter to update from the list in the left section of the window. Update the filter information on the Display or Data tabs following the instructions in Set up a Private or Practice Orders Filter. To save your changes, select Save All & Apply. Change the Sequence of Private or Practice Orders Filters
You can change the sequence of the filters within the Private or Practice group on the Set Orders Summary Filters window and on the Top toolbar for the Orders Summary grid and the Orders Management grid. You cannot change the sequence of pre-defined filters. Do one of the following: On the Filters bar in the Orders panel of the Orders Summary tab, select Manage Filters. On the Filters bar in your custom Practice template with an Orders Management order control, select Manage Filters. The Set Orders Summary Filters window opens. In the Private or Practice group, select the filter to reposition. To move the filter up one level in the group, select the Up arrow. Defining Private and Practice Orders Filters Defining Private and Practice Orders Filters You can create private or practice filters to select the type of order information to display for an individual patient on the Orders Summary grid or for multiple patients on a custom Practice template created with the Orders Management order control. When you create a practice filter, it is available to all users in your practice. To create a practice filter, you must have permission for Allow Updating Practice Filters set in System Administrator > Enterprise Practice > Enterprise Practice > Security Group > Rights > Operations > Orders. To create a private filter, the Allow Providers to Maintain Favorites practice preference must be selected in File Maintenance > Practices Preferences > Orders Module > Lab/Rad. Select the Orders Filter Order Types, Order Status, and Date Context
After you have set up the name, commands, and columns for a new filter, you must select the filter order type(s) on the Data tab to complete the basic filter setup. You can also select the order status and dates to filter by. On the Set Orders Summary Filters window, select the Data tab. In the Select order types section, select the check box for each order type to filter by: LabOrder RadiologyOrder ImmunizationOrder To clear all order types, select Uncheck All. To include all order types, select Check All. To continue entering filter data without applying or saving the filter yet, proceed to step 5. To apply or save and apply the filter after you select the order type(s), select Apply or Save All & Apply. The filter is displayed on the Filters bar for the Orders Summary grid or the Orders Management grid. You can select the filter and the Manage Filters option again to enter data later. Lab and Radiology Test Filter Descriptions
For lab and radiology test orders, you can set up test description filters on the Data 3 tab of the Set Orders Summary Filters window. This filter is not applicable for immunization orders. You can select a Match exact names only option to only show tests that match the exact description you enter. If you do not select this option, you can view tests with a partial match to the description you enter. For example, if you enter Cholesterol as the description without selecting an exact name match, this filter would display different types of cholesterol tests such as HDL Cholesterol; Cholesterol, Total; and LDL Cholesterol (Direct). If you select an exact name match, only tests with the description of Cholesterol would appear. If no tests with this exact description are found, nothing is shown. Select the Orders Filter Provider, Location, and Performing Entity
You can select one or more providers, locations, or performing entities to filter orders by on the Data 2 tab of the Set Orders Summary Filters window. The Performing Entity section is applicable to lab and radiology orders only. If you select only ImmunizationOrder as the order type in the Data tab, the Performing Entity section does not appear. To access the Set Orders Summary Filters window if it is not open, select the saved filter you created on the Orders Summary grid Filter bar, and select Manage Filters. On the Set Orders Summary Filters window, select the Data 2 tab. In the Provider section, select to search for the ordering provider(s). The Provider Search window opens. Do one of the following: To view all providers for your practice, do not enter any search criteria, and select Search.
