Fax Test Orders

Once an order is created and saved, you can fax orders from the Orders Summary tab in the Orders module. Note: Before using the Fax function in the Orders module, you must enable it in the NextGen System Administrator settings. On the Orders Summary tab, select a test order. On the Orders Summary Top toolbar, select Fax. The Send Fax window opens. Enter the To/From detail including the destination type, with the entity name and fax number, and then select Fax. Select Diagnosis Panel

In the Select Diagnosis panel of the Select Tests tab, you can select one or more diagnoses to be associated with the tests ordered. The list of diagnoses is pulled from the patient's chart. Display Test Results in a Grid Format

On the Orders Summary tab, select a completed test order. To expand the Results panel, select the down arrow Select the Grid Results tab. The results appear, with the patient detail, at the bottom of the Results panel in a grid format. To print these details, select Print Results on the toolbar. Parent topic: Grid Results Tab

Selecting Tests and Entering Test Details

When you create a new order or update an order, the following panels appear on the Create New Lab Order, Create New Radiology Order, Update Lab Order, and Update Radiology Order windows on the Select Tests tab. Assign Diagnosis to Selected Tests Panel

All tests submitted through the Orders module should have a diagnosis associated with them. You must select an active problem that is associated on the patient's chart. You can also attach AOE questions with the tests. You should run Medical Necessity check before ordering a test.
