Rename HIE Documents

Before you begin

You must have the Health Information Exchange (HIE) documents update user rights in the System Administrator to rename the HIE documents.
In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can rename an HIE document in the List View or Tree View of the Categories tab.
  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window.
  2. Select the Categories tab.
  3. To view a document, image, or file, do one of the following:
    • Select List View from the list.
    • Select Tree View from the list.
      • To expand all categories; select a category, select Category Options, and select Expand All Categories.
      • To expand the selected category, select .
  4. Select an HIE document to rename, and select document options .
    The document options appear.

  5. Select Rename.
The Rename HIE Document window opens displaying the existing document name in both the Current Document Name and New Document Name fields.

If the document name is too long to fit within the fields, you can hover over the field to view the full document name.

  6. On the Rename HIE Document window, do one of the following:
    • In the New Document Name field, modify or replace the value to specify a new document name.
    • Select to clear the New Document Name field, and enter a new document name.
  7. Select OK.
The HIE document name is updated.

You cannot rename the filtered view of a HIE document. When you rename a HIE Document, the filtered view of the document remains unchanged.

When you rename a document, the HIE Document Renamed event details are logged in the Advanced Audit.
