Add an ICD to the ICD Billing List

The Add ICD option enables you to add a ICD code to the billing ICD list. Open Billing ICD List. On the Billing ICD List tab, select the Add ICD button. The Add Billing ICD window opens. All Diagnosis To search for a patient's diagnosis, do the following In the Search field, enter the diagnosis description in full or in part. Specify whether you want the Add Billing ICD window to search for ICD codes in the All Diagnoses list (default), the Patient's Diagnoses list, the Patient's Chronic Diagnoses list, a Favorites folder, or by Categories. When you right-click the problem from the search results displayed in the problem search window, the View/Add Synonyms menu item displays. The View/Add Synonym menu items enable you to open the View/Add Synonyms window. In the Problem List, select Add Problem. The Add Problem window opens. Search for a problem. Add ICD Codes in a Favorites List

The frequently assigned ICD codes can be added to a favorites group. Open the Add Billing ICD window. Folder name The list of favorites displays under the Favorites menu in the Add Billing ICD window. Create a favorites list. Search for and select an ICD code. The system displays a list of search results. To add an ICD Code to your favorites list, select the diagnosis in the list of search results and drag it to the favorites list. All Diagnoses To view the contents of a favorites list, select the favorites list. The application displays the content of the favorites list in the search results panel. To delete a diagnosis/ICD code from the favorites list, right-click the diagnosis/ICD code and select Delete from Favorite Group. Create an ICD Code Favorites List

To create a favorites group of ICD codes, you must first create a favorites group and then add ICD codes to it. This enables you to search a predefined group of ICD codes. Open the Add Billing ICD window. All Diagnoses The list of favorites displays under the Favorites menu in the Add Billing ICD window. To add a folder, select the add button. The application adds a folder with an editable folder name. Enter the name for the folder. Name of the folder The application enters the Favorites name and adds the delete button. To delete a Favorites group: Select the delete button. The application prompts you to confirm deletion of the Favorites group. Select OK to delete the Favorites group. Add a Synonym in the Billing ICD List

The View/Add Synonyms window enables you to view, add, or delete a synonym for Billing ICD codes. Open the View/Add Synonyms window. The list of system synonyms displays at the top of the synonyms list. View/Add Synonyms To view the previously defined Practice Synonyms, select the Practice Synonyms expand button. To view the previously defined User Synonyms, select the User Synonyms expand button. To add a synonym, determine whether you want to add the synonym to the practice or to the user account and select the appropriate expand button. The Practice Synonyms or User Synonyms tree opens. The system lists all previously added synonyms and displays an editable synonym field with a default name entered. View/Add Synonyms For Practice Synonym, enter a synonym. View/Add Synonyms Select OK. The user-defined synonym is added to the ICD Code ID list of synonyms. Viewing or Adding Synonyms in the Problem List

The View/Add Synonym function enables you to supplement the default system synonyms with a user-defined list of terms that display when you search for a problem. The View/Add Synonym function is available in both the Problem List tab and the Billing ICD List tab. In the Problem List, synonyms are added to the list of terms that display for the SNOMED® Concept when the Fully Specified Name is entered in the search field. In the Billing ICD List, synonyms are added to the list of terms that display when an ICD Code is entered in the search field. Adding synonyms to the SNOMED® Concept and the Billing ICD List simplifies searching for terms and helps to ensure a standard list of customized search results when variations of a term are entered in the search field.
