Create an ICD Code Favorites List

To create a favorites group of ICD codes, you must first create a favorites group and then add ICD codes to it. This enables you to search a predefined group of ICD codes. Open the Add Billing ICD window. All Diagnoses The list of favorites displays under the Favorites menu in the Add Billing ICD window. To add a folder, select the add button. The application adds a folder with an editable folder name. Enter the name for the folder. Name of the folder The application enters the Favorites name and adds the delete button. To delete a Favorites group: Select the delete button. The application prompts you to confirm deletion of the Favorites group. Select OK to delete the Favorites group. Add an ICD to the ICD Billing List

The Add ICD option enables you to add a ICD code to the billing ICD list. Open Billing ICD List. On the Billing ICD List tab, select the Add ICD button. The Add Billing ICD window opens. All Diagnosis To search for a patient's diagnosis, do the following In the Search field, enter the diagnosis description in full or in part. Specify whether you want the Add Billing ICD window to search for ICD codes in the All Diagnoses list (default), the Patient's Diagnoses list, the Patient's Chronic Diagnoses list, a Favorites folder, or by Categories. Select Search. The application displays a list of search results. The most frequently assigned ICD code appears at the top of the list. Search results To add a search result to a favorite's list, right-click the search result and select Add to Favorite Group. Open View/Add Synonyms Window in the Billing ICD List

When you right-click the Billing ICD code from the search results displayed in the diagnosis search window, the View/Add Synonyms menu item displays. The View/Add Synonym menu items enable you to access the View/Add Synonyms window for Billing ICD codes. In the Billing ICD List tab, select the Add ICD button. The Add Billing ICD window appears. Search for an ICD Billing code. In the list of search results, locate the Billing ICD Code to add a synonym to. Right-click the Billing ICD Code. The View/Add Synonyms menu item appears. Search All Diagnosis

Enter your search criterion in the text box at the top of the diagnosis search window. You can enter all or part of the clinical description, ICD code, or billing description. You can search for both ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes. You can enter a higher-level ICD code to display all of the associated lower-level ICD codes. Note: The search criterion may be populated from the trigger. You can change it, if necessary. If you search for ICD code 250.00, the search results include codes such as 250.01 or 250.02. Select All Diagnoses (default) in the left pane. Select Search, or select the Enter key. The search results grid displays the results that match your search criterion. Any results that match a diagnosis already on the patient’s diagnosis list display at the top followed by any results that match the provider’s most frequently assigned list. ICD Legacy Mapping

ICD Legacy Mapping enables you to view ICD-10 General Equivalency Mapping (GEM) codes for an ICD-9 code. These code mappings are drawn from the ICD-9-to-ICD-10 xref table supplied by Health Language, Inc. (HLI), a third party content provider. The diagnosis search window may be set up to launch in the ICD Legacy Mapping mode, or you can select an option for this mode on the window. Enter the ICD-9 code in the text box at the top of the diagnosis search window. Select ICD Legacy Mapping in the left pane. Select Search, or select the Enter key. The search results grid displays each unique ICD-10 code mapped to the ICD-9 code, which is shown in the Legacy Icd Code column. Note: The results show only the display term description of each unique ICD code, not every synonym for it. To view ICD code synonyms, see step 4. Delete an ICD Code from the ICD Billing List

You can delete an ICD code from the Billing ICD list if the Billing ICD code is not assigned to a locked encounter. Select the patient's encounter that contains the problem to modify. Open Problems module. Select the Billing ICD List tab. Do one of the following: Right-click and select Delete from the context menu. Select the Delete button on the data entry area toolbar. The Delete Diagnosis message prompts you to confirm deletion. Select Yes to delete the ICD code. Note: All deleted billing ICD entries are displayed in the Deleted Items window.
