Accessing the CDA Viewer

You can open the CDA Viewer from several contexts, including NextGen® Enterprise EHR, Data Share Module, Medical Summary Utility, Clinical Reconciliation Module, or NextGen® Clinical Message Manager. Open CDA Viewer from NextGen Enterprise EHR In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can launch the CDA Viewer from the Categories tab, Generate CCD button, Provider Approval Queue, or Data Share module. Provider Approval Queue

To use the PAQ, you must enable it first and set up the provider assignment and relationship, required signoff items, and operations rights in the System Administrator application. As a provider or delegate, you can access the PAQ from the Workflow module. Note: A patient Inclusion or Exclusion List may restrict your access to PAQ items. If you are a workflow delegate for another user or provider, you may not be able to access the same PAQ items as that person. If you do not have access to a patient, the Restricted message appears under the Patient and Description columns. Access the Workflow Module

You can access the Workflow module in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Perform one of the following: On the NextGen® Enterprise EHR top toolbar, select either the Inbox or PAQ icon. Note: Accessing the Workflow module from the PAQ icon always displays the PAQ tab, regardless of which tab was opened last. From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR File menu, select Work Flow. Mark PAQ items as Read or Unread in the Pending tab

In the PAQ tab of the Pending tab, you can mark the PAQ items as read or unread. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. On Top Toolbar, select Inbox to open the Workflow module. Select the Provider Approval Queue tab.In the Pending tab, the unread items appears in bold format. To mark the item as read or unread, do the following: To mark an item as read, select the item. To mark the item as unread, right-click the item and then select Mark as Unread. Note: You can mark a PAQ item as unread only after you upgrade NextGen® Enterprise EHR to the latest version. Only the PAQ items present in the Pending tab appear in bold. When you move a PAQ item from the Pending tab to the Rejected or History tab, the PAQ item does not appear in bold format. Parent topic: PAQ Tabs

Send Bypassed C-CDA and HL7 Documents to the Provider Approval Queue

The Interoperability Rules Engine enables you to create rules that exclude selected types of C-CDA or HL7 documents from the PAQ. If you decide that a sign-off is needed for a document that bypassed the PAQ, you can manually send the document to the PAQ in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, open a patient chart. Select the Categories tab. To view a bypassed document, do one of the following: Select List View from the list. Select Tree View from the list. To expand all categories; select a category, select Category Options , and select Expand All Categories. To expand the selected category, select . Select a C-CDA, or HL7 bypassed document, and select document options . The document options appear. Note: The bypassed C-CDA, or HL7 documents does not have any PAQ icons. If the document is sent to PAQ, the document options does not display the Send to Provider Approval Queue option. Select Send to Provider Approval Queue. A message appears confirming the action. Select Y
