Medication Status
Each medication entered into a patient's record has a corresponding medication status which is displayed in the first column of the medications list. The following table describes the medication statuses:
Medication Status | Status means that medication was |
---|---|
Active | Prescribed to a patient, who is actively using the medication. |
Inactive | Prescribed to the patient, however the patient is not taking the medication at the present time. |
Pending | Prescribed to the patient with the Start Date set in the future. |
Temporary | Prescribed to the patient and is displayed on the medication list, but was not saved yet. |
Deleted | Deleted. If applicable, a Cancel Rx message was sent to the pharmacy to ensure the medication is not dispensed to the patient. |
Active status is assigned to a medication when you save the prescription. If the prescribed medication reaches the specified stop date, Inactive status is assigned to the medication. You can change the medication status manually at any time.
