Medication Status

Medication Status	Status means that medication was
Active	Prescribed to a patient, who is actively using the medication.
Inactive	Prescribed to the patient, however the patient is not taking the medication at the present time.
Pending	Prescribed to the patient with the Start Date set in the future.
Temporary	Prescribed to the patient and is displayed on the medication list, but was not saved yet.
Deleted	Deleted. If applicable, a Cancel Rx message was sent to the pharmacy to ensure the medication is not dispensed to the patient.

Delete a Medication

You can delete any medication that was prescribed to a patient. Depending on your system settings, you may be required to select a reason that explains why you are deleting a previously prescribed medication. When applicable, the system sends a CancelRx notification to the pharmacy to ensure the prescription is not unintentionally dispensed to the patient. In the medications list, highlight the medication that you want to delete. Select Delete. A message informs you that a CancelRx message may be sent to the pharmacy and a deletion reason may be required. Select Yes to confirm deleting the selected medication. If deletion reasons are required for previously prescribed medications, the Deletion Reason Selection window opens. Deletion Reason Selection Select a reason for the deletion, and then select OK. If the medication was previously sent to a pharmacy and the prescriber is enrolled in the Cancel Rx service level, the Cancel Medication window displays a message to inform you a CancelR

Medication Status

Each medication entered into a patient's record has a corresponding medication status which is displayed in the first column of the medications list. The following table describes the medication statuses: Medication Status Status means that medication was Active Prescribed to a patient, who is actively using the medication. Stopping Medications

You are able to stop a medication that was prescribed to a patient. When you stop an active medication, the Medications module adds the current date as the stop date and then moves the medication to the Inactive section. Cancel an Electronic Prescription In the Medications module, you can cancel a prescribed medicine and send a cancellation message to a participating pharmacy. Tracking the eRx Status The eRx Status and Dispense History windows enable you to track the status of cancelled electronic prescriptions. No Active Medications Indicator

The No Active Medications check box is selected when the patient in context has no active medications in their chart. When a new medication is prescribed, the check box is automatically cleared. When an active medication is deactivated (either manually or by surpassing the stop date), stopped, or deleted and there are no active medications listed for the patient, the No Active Medications check box is selected again.
