After the NextGen Compendium is loaded, you load the LOINC codes. The LOINC codes contain the following information:
Column | Column Content |

| Row Type | New or different (updated records) indicator |
| LOINC Code | The LOINC code is the unique identifier for the LOINC record to facilitate the exchange and pooling of results for clinical care, outcome management, and research. |
| Component Description | Contains information on what is measured, evaluated or observed. |
| Long Common Name | This is the long common name assigned to this LOINC code. |
| User Description | This value can be edited by the user. |
| Property | This is the observed property of the LOINC component (for example, substance concentration, mass, volume) |
| Time Aspect | The time of the measurement (over time or momentary) |
| System | The origin of the specimen (for example, blood donor, fetus, or blood product unit) |
| Scale Type | This column identifies the scale of measurement of the LOINC component. |
| Method Type | This column identifies the method of measurement for the LOINC component. |
| Class Type | 1 = Laboratory, 2 = Clinical, 3 = Claims, 4 = Attachment |
| Class | Classification of LOINC term |
| Order/Observation | Indicates whether LOINC component is for Order, Observation or both. |
