Open the Practice Preferences

Do one of the following: In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Practices. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Admin > Preferences > Practice. Double-click a practice, and then select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. In the Preference List, select the desired practice preference name. The window displays the Practice Preferences related to your selection. Assign External Provider Reference URLs at the User Level

NextGen® Enterprise EHR allows you to assign your own External Provider Reference URLs that override the URLs set up in the Practice Preferences in File Maintenance. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the Tools menu, select Preferences. On the Preferences window, select the Reference tab. In the External Provider Reference section, enter the URLs of the websites in the respective fields for the following modules: Diagnosis & Problem Modules Procedure Module Medication Module Medication Allergy Module Order Module - Lab Results Select Apply and then select OK. Accessing Patient Education Resources

In Patient Education Resources Guide, you can set up and use external educational resources and internal resources from the following modules of NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Medication Allergies Problems Medications Orders Procedures You can access the Patient Education Browser to search for internal and external patient education material. The Patient Education Browser also enables you to add, save, and delete education material to a patient's chart or a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. Resources Practice Preferences

Use the Resources Practice Preferences to set up the following: If you access the Patient Education Browser from within NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, set whether the system automatically saves internal patient education documents and whether they are sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. These preferences enhance patient triggers in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Internal Document to Save to Encounter Automatically preference – Allows a specified Internal Patient Education document to save automatically to the encounter. Internal Document to Save to Encounter and Send to Patient Portal Automatically – Allows a specified Internal Patient Education document to automatically be sent to Patient Portal only when the document is saved to the encounter. Note: These preferences enhance patient triggers in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. They do not have an impact on the Patient Education Module in NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
