Help Option	Description
View Online Help	Opens the online help for the NextGen® Enterprise application. The online help is a modern and dynamic web-based help system that provides you the right content quickly through easy-to-use navigation and a simplified information structure. You can also enter keywords and search for specific topics. The online help content regularly receives updates irrespective of the release cycle, so that you get only the latest information for your queries.
Offline Help > EHR Help	Opens the offline help for the NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
Offline Help > Adaptive Content Engine Help	Opens the offline help for the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine.
About	Opens the About NextGen® window and displays the following information: NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine versions currently installed Patch number Build date Current Database and the version Release version of the application Medication, Surescripts® Formulary, and InfoScan Formulary and NextGen® Ophthalmic Suite versions loaded into the database Copyright Links to the NextGen Healthcare website and NextGen Healthcare Success Community
SQL Settings	Enables you to display SQL errors, warnings, and statements.
Trace Settings	Enables you to trace all SQL actions.

NextGen® Enterprise EHR Help

File Menu

The NextGen® Enterprise EHR File menu includes the following options. File Option Description New Enables you to create an encounter, case, custom encounter, addendum, group encounter, patient, person, insurance, image, template, document, and referral, and also lock an encounter. Admin Menu

All of the options in the Admin menu require specific user rights and permissions and are available only to users in a System Administrator role. The basic options included in the Admin menu are as follows: Tools Option Description Work Flow Manager Enables setting up Out-of-Office status, PAQ, and Workflow Delegates. Trace SQL Actions

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, open Help menu. Select Trace Settings. The Trace Settings window opens. Select Trace Enabled. Select the check boxes for the instances to trace. Select OK. The NextGen Trace window opens. Select Start. The selected items are automatically traced as you perform actions in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. After you perform actions, you can view the traces on the NextGen Trace window. If you have multiple results, you can filter the results. NextGen® Enterprise EHR Help

Using Templates

NextGen® Enterprise EHR uses templates to record and store patient demographic and medical information electronically. Templates provide a simple way to enter medical information and compile patient records. All of the data entered into a template can later be used for statistical reports, document generation, and further review of the patient's information. NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers a set of predefined templates known as the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine and enables the creation of user-defined templates by system administrators. Based on the setup of a specific template or trigger, some workflows may follow those in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules (for example, Medications, Procedures, Problems), and some may be specific to the template.
