Import the Sign Off Comments Document File

You can now import the sign_off_comments.ndx file in Document Builder TX Text. Open the Document Import/Export Wizard in Document Builder TX Text. Select the document Import operation. Select the Compile Document(s) check box and select Add. Go to the NextGenRoot folder on your file server. Open the Macro_Update_Documents folder. Double-click the sign_off_comments.ndx file and select Next. Select Finish. Generate Sign Off Comments Document for a Locked Encounter

You can generate the Sign Off Comments document offline for a locked encounter through the Document Queue utility in Document Builder TX Text. For more information on offline document generation, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Documents (TX Text) User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise . Open the patient's chart. In the Encounter History tab, expand the locked encounter that contains the signed-off document, lab result, or image with comments. Select to open the template that contains the Communication component. In the Communication Component Grid, select the Document menu and select Sign Off Comments (Off-Line). Generate Sign Off Comments Document for an Unlocked Encounter

You can generate and save a Sign Off Comments document for a selected encounter and then print it. You need to select an existing unlocked encounter containing the signed off document, lab result, or image with comments. In the Communication Component Grid, select the Document menu, and select Sign Off Comments. Telephone Communication The Sign-Off Comments document is generated in a new tab. Sigh-Off comments The document contains a summary of all the sign off comments logged for the current encounter for the patient. The document header displays the patient name, date of birth, phone number, and encounter date and time stamp. The document footer displays the provider name, document generation date and time stamp, and the name of the person who generated the document. Comments are listed by type (Sign-Off), date and time stamp, comment entered, and the name of the employee who entered the comment. Sign Off Comments Document

The Sign Off Comments document provides a summary of all PAQ sign-off comments for the selected encounter by date and time. You can generate the Sign Off Comments document on an unlocked or locked encounter. On a locked encounter, the document is generated offline and saved as an addendum. The document must be generated within the encounter that contains the signed-off item with comments. To generate and print a document with sign-off comments from the Communication Component on the NextGen Adaptive Content Management (formerly NextGen® KBM) Telephone Communication template, you must import the sign_off_comments.ndx file. Communication Component Grid

The Communication Component Grid appears at the top of the Communication component. Communication Component Grid The grid displays details about logged calls made in the Communication component. Details for specific calls can be collapsed and expanded using the and icons next to the call. Calls logged from the previous telephone call template displays in the grid, but these calls can only be viewed in the component. You can make changes to the call based on the Panel properties. After the call is changed or updated, it is displayed as a new row in the Communication Component Grid under the existing Call Type. From the grid, you can: Filter logged calls Create a task for logged and unassociated calls Generate a document for logged calls If you select a communication task from the Workflow module, the Communication component opens and focuses on the call associated with the task. Respond to PAQ Action Tasks

A PAQ Action task is listed in the Clinical Tasking tab only if it is signed off in the Provider Approval Queue tab using the Task 1 or Task 2 action item. For the selected PAQ Action task, you can: Perform the PAQ actions. View the activity log in the Communication Summary window. Add a comment. Access the Workflow Module.
