Enable Users to Update Practice Filters

You can control whether selected users can configure practice filters in the Data Share moduleData Share module. Open System Administrator. In the left pane, expand a practice, and select a user group. In the right pane, select the Rights tab. Select OPERATIONS > Medical Summary/Data Share > Allow Updating Practice Filters. Allow Updating Practice Filters Right Under Access Rights, select Yes or No. This right allows the user to create, edit, or delete practice filters. Select Save. Configure Practice Filters

Before you begin Practice filters must have been previously enabled for the practice. Your user account must have previously been granted permission to update practice filters. You can create a filter that is available to all users in the currently selected practice. On the Export tab, under Clinical Information, set Export Type to Manual Data Selection. In the Clinical Information pane, select the gear icon.The DSM Filter Configuration window opens. Select Create New Filter and Create Practice Filter, enter a name for the filter, and then select Next. DSM Filter Configuration The window presents a list of clinical information categories. New Filter Configuration To open Help for this window, click the icon at the upper right. For each category, such as Encounters, Medications, and Allergies, a blue underlined link appears, stating which items should be selected for that category. Enable Practice Filters

You can enable or disable the creation of filters that are available to all users from a practice. Open File Maintenance. Select Master Files > System > Practices. The Practices List window opens. In the Practices list, double-click a practice. The Modify Practice Information window opens. Select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. In the left pane, select EHR.The window updates to show options related to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select or clear the Allow DSM/MSU Practice Filters check box, and then select OK. Configuring Clinical Data Filters

Clinical information filters enable you to quickly select the types of clinical data to include in an export. By defining a filter for repeated use, you can ensure that exported documents include required categories of information, such as information required for Meaningful Use compliance. Clinical information filters are available only when you set the Export Type option to Manual Data Selection. Manual Data Selection Export Type Clinical information filters do not exclude items from the Clinical Information list. Rather, these filters cause selected categories of items in the Clinical Information list to be preselected for export. Even if a filter has been applied, you are still free to select or clear individual items in the list. Open the Practice Preferences

Do one of the following: In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Practices. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Admin > Preferences > Practice. Double-click a practice, and then select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. In the Preference List, select the desired practice preference name.
