From the Application Launcher, access
NextGen® Enterprise EHR

To expand the
Results
panel, select the down arrow.
From the
Results
toolbar, select
Setup
.
Select the vendor from the
Please select vendor
list.
The default selected vendor is the entity that performed the test.
Select an existing component range.
Select
Edit
.
The
Add New Critical Range for
window opens.
Enter or select new values.
Select
OK
.
The updated critical results range appears in the window.

Define Critical Result Ranges
You can define a range of results for each type of test order. Then, when results are recorded for test orders that are outside of the normal range, an alert appears. You must have permissions set up in System Administrator to set up and change alert settings. On the Orders Summary tab, select an order that has results with a status of Final. To expand the Results panel, select the down arrow. From the Results toolbar, select Setup. The vendors list is displayed from the external system table. The entity that performed the test is the default vendor. The list is associated with a specific vendor, such as Labcorp® or Quest Diagnostics®. The vendors list is provided by a system table and is loaded with NextGen® Enterprise EHR. The list is updated, when needed, by NextGen Healthcare. Select the vendor from the Please select vendor list. A list of all result components for that vendor appears. If the vendor is not set up with any components, the Components list is empty. Record Challenge Test Results
You can record a challenge test result on the Testing - Allergy template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Testing - Allergy template, expand the Challenge Tests panel. To enter the results, select the desired entry in the grid. NextGen® Enterprise EHR fills the fields above the grid with the data from the selected entry. In the Results section, do the following: Enter the time of the interpretation of the test. Enter the patient's vitals details. Select Reaction to select the reaction that best matches the patient's current state. Select the Interpretation field and select Positive or Negative from the list. Enter additional details in the Comments field. Select Update. NextGen® Enterprise EHR adds the data to the selected entry in the grid. View Lab Results
Before you begin You must ensure that you have the necessary access rights in System Administrator for the Orders Module. For more information on user access rights, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. You can view the results of a patient's laboratory tests. Additionally, you can open the Orders Module and view the order details associated with a result. For more information on the Orders Module, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Orders Module User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. On the Quick Buttons panel, select Lab Results.The Review Patient Results window opens displaying a report of all completed laboratory tests in a flow sheet format, that includes the date and time of the specimens associated with an order collected,test name, and result for the test name. Customize the Initial Tab View in the Orders Module
When you open the Orders module, the Results tab appears by default. You can set up a user preference to display a different tab as the default. For more information on Orders user preferences, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Layout and Preferences Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Main menu, select Tools > Preferences. The Preferences window opens. In the General tab, under the Orders section, in the Initial View list, select one of the following: Results Flowsheet Orders Summary Immun - Chart Immun - Recommendation Immun - Registry Select Apply and then OK. Enter the Prick/ID/Challenge Results
The Prick/ID/Challenge Test panel enables providers to review and enter results for the patient's Prick, ID, and Challenge tests. You can enter the Challenge test results in the Challenge Tests panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Testing - Allergy template, expand the Prick/ID/Challenge Test panel. Review the Results grid. Select the appropriate Test type. The ordered allergens appear in the Results section. Note: NextGen® Enterprise EHR displays the first group of 20. To view each subsequent group of tests, select one of the following group links: Orders 21-40 Orders 41-60 Orders 61-80 Orders 81-100 Orders 101-120 CAUTION: NextGen® Enterprise EHR clears the fields when you select another group of tests. If you enter any data for a current group of allergens, you must save that data before displaying the next group of tests. Export Manually Corrected Laboratory Results
You can manually correct results for completed laboratory orders and export the updated results to NextGen® PxP Portal. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. Open the Orders module. On the Orders Summary tab, select a completed laboratory order that has been sent to a performing entity. Expand Results (reported results - formatted). Select the New Results Entry tab. The order details appear. Note: Ensure that the values in Comp. Key and Component match their original values. If necessary, you can correct the value for Result. To update the flag of the selected order, select a flag from the Flag list. From the Result Status list, select Corrected, and then select Save. Select the Formatted Results tab and verify the changes. To validate the order, select Sign-off. To enable Patient Portal, select Refresh, and then select Patient Portal.
