Custom Reports Use and Features
Report Filter options give you the flexibility that you need to create many types of reports. You can generate reports for an enterprise or a practice. By filtering various combinations of report data, you can produce more comprehensive and targeted reports to address particular needs. For example, you can select Diagnosis and Template data to refine the type of diagnosis information included in a report.
While the data combinations are extensive and customizable, before generating reports consider the purpose of the report you wish to create and the type of results you wish to see. The general report categories and features include the following:
Report Type | Description |
---|---|
Clinical data | Create reports for data contained in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Clinical modules, including allergy, diagnosis, medication, and procedures data. |
Orders data | Create reports for data based on the Lab or Diagnostic orders for a patient or practice within a selected enterprise. |
Provider data | Filter Provider data to generate reports based on the providers type within the enterprise, specific practice within an enterprise, or a single practice. |
Template data | Create Template Reports based on specific template data and associated template fields. This option can be used very effectively in combination with other clinical data. For example, a Diagnosis Report to determine patients that have had hypertension over 80/120 for a specified timeframe. |
Patient Demographics Patient Data Reports | Set up report filters and generate reports based on patient demographic information, such as gender, date of birth, and ethnicity. |
Patient Chart Patient Demographics | Set up report filters based on UDS demographic information, such as homeless status, family size, and income, HIS information, and end user defined fields. |
Enterprise and Practice Reports enable you to display detailed information or summary information, including the following:
Report Type | Description |
---|---|
Detail | Includes all of the detailed information about the report. You can "drill down" into the report and can double-click a row of data to directly access the patient related to that data. |
Summary | Allows you to compare specifically filtered data. A Summary Report consists of two separate reports: A Denominator Report and a Numerator Report (sub-report). You can compare data using these reports. For example, you could use the Denominator Report to display the number of female patients in a specific practice, and then compare it with a Numerator Report (sub-report), which filters out female patients who are older than 40 years of age. |
In addition, advanced reporting capabilities let you create reports for Logical Groups and Stored Procedures. These reports provide complex reporting capabilities and require advanced reporting knowledge; you may need to contact your System Administrator before working with these reports.
