Filters and Processing Compendium Loads

If you use filters to select specific types of order tests to process after you load a compendium, any process you select (Keep Mine, Accept Download, or Automatic) is only applied to the items in view after the filter has been applied. Load or Update a Test Compendium

You can use the Orders Management Console to update both lab and radiology compendium values. Your specific Favorites are set up through File Maintenance. The Orders Management Console is used for loading the compendiums, not Favorites lists. To handle the view on the Compendium Management window, you can filter what you see (All, lab or radiology). You cannot save when filters are active. You can use the options Keep Mine, Accept Downloaded, Automatic, and Manual on the bottom toolbar to reconcile the downloaded (vendor) compendium data. Open the Orders Management Console. Enter your credentials. The initial Orders Management Console window opens, and displays a message asking which compendium you want to update. The default compendiums, NextGen and LOINC, appear as options when you start the Orders Management Console. Each item in the compendium list contains the name of the compendium and the download status. If this is the first time you are running the compendium, the status is Do

Saving Loaded Compendiums

When the data load of the compendium is complete, the toolbar at the bottom of the window provides three options: Go Home, Save Modified or Save. The Go Home button exits a compendium load that has not been completed. If you select Go Home, a warning message appears and asks if you want to stop the update. If you select Yes, the file update is not completed, and you return to the Home window The Save Modified button saves only the modified items and displays a window showing the status of the saved items. New, Different and Conflict Items in Compendium Loads

If you reload or update the compendium, color-coded indicators appears: New New items can have a User Description added and a Confidential setting entered. You can put your own User Description. Conflict A conflict exists between something already in the current compendium and the new download. You can modify the item. Difference A difference exists between data already in the current compendium and in the new download. You can either accept the new value or retain the existing value. You cannot change the data from the load. When reviewing the newly loaded compendium, you cannot move to the next step until everything on the current window has been completed. Importing Compendiums or Updates with the Orders Management Console

After you have configured the initial settings for the Orders Management Console, you can load or update a test order compendium. You must import compendiums to make them available to the Orders module; the NextGen database does not contain any compendiums initially. When running the Orders Management Console, the sequence in which you process the vendors is enforced by the program. You get an error message if you try to load a vendor list before NextGen or LOINC. You can load the compendiums in the following order: NextGen LOINC Vendors (for example, Labcorp, Veredigm labs) If you have updated the NextGen compendium file, and there are no changes to the LOINC code, you update the vendor compendium. The initial load and any updates come from the Web Server URL defined in your settings.
