Acknowledge Problem - Drug Interactions

The DUR runs against all active and pending medications on the patient's chart. If any interactions are found, they appear on the Drug Interaction window. Note: User-defined medications are not checked for interactions. The display of problem interactions is based on the display levels set for the system and/or a specific user. If the Show DUR across enterprise option is enabled, NextGen® Enterprise EHR checks for possible interactions with the patient's medications across all practices. CAUTION: You must review and acknowledge each interaction alert. Take the necessary steps to avoid an adverse reaction for the patient. Repeat the following steps for each interaction alert. Select the interaction alert. Review the prescribed medication and the alert message. Select Acknowledge. NextGen® Enterprise EHR accepts the acknowledgment and automatically selects the next available medication Interaction. A check mark appears next to the interaction. If you have the necessary user rights and permissions, you can set the following display levels: Interaction Display Level Condition Interaction Display Level Pediatric Precautions Display Level Geriatric Precautions Display Level Allergy Interactions Display Level Note: The interaction default value should be equal to or greater than the interaction minimum value for all interaction settings in Universal Preferences.
