menu, select
User Password.
The
Change NextGen Account Password
window opens.
In the
Old Password
field, enter your existing password.
Enter new password in both the
New Password
and
Confirm New Password
fields. Follow the password requirements.

Admin Menu
All of the options in the Admin menu require specific user rights and permissions and are available only to users in a System Administrator role. Change User Preferences
You can change many of the default user preferences within NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open Preferences window. Select the tab that contains the preferences to change. Change the preference in the selected tab. Select Apply. Depending on your selections, a warning message may appear, informing you that the preference changes are not in effect until the next time you open the application. Select OK to close the message. Select OK to accept the changes you have made and exit from the Preferences window. To exit without saving changes, select Cancel. Parent topic: User Preferences

Turn on Patient Mode for Template Entry
Before you begin Before you turn on Patient mode, NextGen Healthcare recommends that you save all open templates and any other currently open work in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the View menu, select Patient Mode. A message appears, asking you to select the initial template. Select OK. The Select Template window opens. Select the template, and select OK. A message appears, informing you that the Patient mode is password protected and how to turn it off. For information on selecting templates, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Templates User Guide for NextGen Enterprise EHR. Select OK. Only the selected template is displayed. Patients can gain access to any other templates or popup templates or documents that are opened from the selected template. To return to the regular mode and exit from the Patient mode, select the <ESC> key on your keyboard. A confirmation message appears. Select Yes to exit. Edit a User Dictionary
You can add or remove words from the user dictionary. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the main menu, select Tools, and then select Preferences. The Preferences window appears. Under Spell Check, select Spell Check Options. The Spell Check Options window appears. Select the User Dictionary tab. Under Edit User Dictionary, perform any one of the following: To add a word to the user dictionary, enter the word and select Add Word. Lock an Encounter
Before you begin Ensure that the Rights > Operations > Encounters > Lock Patient Encounter in System Administrator is set to True and the necessary access rights are enabled. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. To prevent changes or additions to a patient encounter, you can lock the encounter. You can create an addendum to add documents or images to a locked encounter. Note: If you do not lock the encounter manually, the encounter gets automatically locked within 72 hours, by default. You can change the default locking period by accessing File Maintenance > Enterprise Preferences General > Lock Interval tab, or Practice Master file > Practice Defaults tab.
