Set NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Save Action for Internal Documents

If you access the Patient Education Browser in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, you can set up in the Resources Practice Preferences whether you want internal patient education documents that are saved to the encounter to be automatically sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: The preferences enhance patient triggers in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, and they do not have an impact on the Patient Education Module in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Practice Preferences. From the Preference List, select Resources. From Internal Resources, select one of the following save options: Internal Document to Save to Encounter automatically. Allows a specified Internal Patient Education document to save to the encounter automatically. Internal Document to Save to Encounter and Send to Patient Portal automatically. Allows a specified Internal Patient Education document to automatically be sent to NextGen® PxP Portal only when the document is saved to the encounter. Parent topic: Open the Practice

You can assign links for the external resources in the Resources Practice Preferences. Alternatively, users can External Provider References in the User Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. These User Preference settings override the settings from the Practice Preferences. CAUTION: Because you are responsible for setting up the URLs for your practice, NextGen Healthcare does not have prior knowledge of the code system expected by the receiving website. If an unsupported code is sent to the selected URL, the URL will fail and the website will return an error message. Set Up Practice Preferences. From the Preference List, select Resources. NextGen® Enterprise EHR allows you to assign your own External Provider Reference URLs that override the URLs set up in the Practice Preferences in File Maintenance. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the Tools menu, select Preferences. On the Preferences window, select the Reference tab. In the External Provider Reference section, enter the URLs of the websites in the respective fields for the following modules: Diagnosis & Problem Modules Procedure Module Medication Module Medication Allergy Module Order Module - Lab Results Select Apply and then select OK. Set Up URLs for Educational and Clinical Resources

When viewing a completed result from the Results tab, you can access educational resources or clinical references for a physician's or clinical staff's use or to give to a patient. This practice preference enables you to set up the URLs for services that your practice subscribes to, such as MedlinePlus Connect. Select File Maintenance > System > Practices. Select to select a practice. Select Preferences. Select Resources. The Resources window opens. Enter the appropriate URLs in the following fields for your practice, if necessary. You can set the URL for the following: External Patient Education Clinical Decision Support External Provider Reference Note: If you set up the URL for External Provider Reference in NextGen® Enterprise EHR User Preferences, that URL overrides the entry in the File Maintenance Orders Module Resources field.
