Advanced Audit for Patient Education

Advanced audit is available for internal patient education. Advanced audit saves the following events: Printed Viewed Saved (Healthwise Patient Education only) To comply with the Stage 2 Meaningful Use requirements, advanced audit is available for the events related to external resources from the various modules of NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Advanced audit saves the following information for external resources: User Standard date and time Enterprise Practice Station Patient Originating module Full URL Note: Because the URLs for external resources open outside of the NextGen® Enterprise EHR application, audit information cannot be obtained from the URL. The Audit Report Tool provides a list of event types that can be used as a filter to view the audit log items. When a report is written to review the use of the educational resources, the event type identifies whether the InfoButton standard was used. Accessing Patient Education Resources

In Patient Education Resources Guide, you can set up and use external educational resources and internal resources from the following modules of NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Medication Allergies Problems Medications Orders Procedures You can access the Patient Education Browser to search for internal and external patient education material. The Patient Education Browser also enables you to add, save, and delete education material to a patient's chart or a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. Select Event Tracking with Advanced Auditing

Advanced auditing tracks the events across all NextGen® Enterprise applications. You can access the setup for Advance Auditing in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, NextGen® Document Management, and System Administrator. Open NextGen® Document Management. On the toolbar, select Admin, and then select Advanced Audit Setup. The Advanced Audit Setup window opens with the Events Setup tab displaying the current enterprise name. Advanced Audit Setup window Select which events to track by doing one of the following: To track all events within an enterprise, select the enterprise name checkbox. To track all events within a practice, expand the enterprise name, and then select the practice name checkbox.
