Administering Immunizations High-Level Workflow and Tips
To support your practice’s Immunizations administration process, determine which Immunizations workflow or task is appropriate to perform for each patient. The Immunizations functionality enables you to select the appropriate vaccines, provide vaccine details during administration, and track and complete each Immunization life cycle efficiently. There may be various scenarios a physician and clinical staff encounter when ordering and executing an immunization. For example, special patient needs, such as a VFC-eligibility, allergy sensitivities, or parental consent; billing considerations, available vaccines in the inventory, and ensuring the most appropriate vaccines are selected according to immunization schedules. For each visit, you need the flexibility to work with the Immunization functions as each event occurs in real time. If needed, for example, you may need to do any of the following: View or hide dose exceptions when administering immunizations. Select and document Excluded Immunizations. Document that an Immunizations series is complete. Mark a patient who has no previously documented immunizations for reporting purposes and tracking. Report adverse events.
