Adding or Updating Vaccine Favorites

You can add favorites or create categories for the Immunizations that your practice or physician uses most frequently. Adult and Pediatric are default categories. However, you can create categories for your favorites lists. Note: : You can select multiple vaccines favorites with the same CVX and CPT for the same vaccine category and practice. However, you cannot add more than one vaccine with the same CVX, CPT, and vaccine name. Select the Flu Season Vaccine Schedule

You can set up the Flu Season vaccine schedule for your practice. Note: If the flu season is active based on the flu season preferences you selected, a Due Now status displays in the Chart and Recommendation views when you select Immunizations from the Immunizations module. You can then select the appropriate flu vaccines to administer for the patient. Access the Immunizations Practice Preferences In the Vaccine Schedule > Flu Season section, from the Start list, select the month when the flu season begins, and from the End list, select the month when the flu season ends. Vaccine Dose Validation

The Enable Vaccine Dose Validation practice preference helps the provider and other clinical staff determine the best schedule for administering immunizations to complete a patient’s vaccine series. This practice preference enables the system to verify if a dose interval for an administered immunization is valid. If an immunization was administered before the minimum dose interval, the system marks this dose as an exception, and displays this notification on the Chart tab for the specific vaccine. With the Enable Vaccine Dose Validation practice preference selected, you can also use the Disable Adult Dose Validation practice preference to control validation of the intervals between vaccine doses given to patients at 18 years of age or older. If you select this preference, the intervals between vaccines you administer to an adult patient are not evaluated for validity. Add a Vaccine Schedule for a New Vaccine Group

Access the Immunizations Practice Preference. In the Vaccine Schedule section, select the Open Menu button, and then select New. The Add Vaccine Schedule window opens. Select the Vaccine Group Name. Select the Start Age and End Age or select the At Birth check box. Select Sex. If required, add a note. To continue creating schedules for new vaccine groups, select Next. Select OK. To save the Vaccine Schedule changes for all practices, select Save to Practices. Note: You can only select Apply to All Practices, if you have set up the Apply Order Preferences across Practices rights in System Administrator. The Update Vaccine Schedule window opens. Update the Start Age and End Age or At Birth check box. Select the Sex. If required, add a note. Select OK. To save the Vaccine Schedule changes for all practices, select the Apply to All Practices check box. Note: You can only select Apply to All Practices, if you have set up the Apply Order Preferences across Practices rights in System Administrator.
