Add or Update NPI Numbers
You can modify or update the NPI number associated with the selected provider.
In File Maintenance, open the provider in the
Providers
master file.
The
Modify Provider Information
window opens.
Select the
System
tab.
Verify the NPI number displayed in the
National Provider ID
field and make modifications if required.
Select the
ePrescribing
tab.
In the
Networks
section, select open menu
.
Select
Retail
>
Enroll
.
The
EPrescribing Message Submission
confirmation window appears.
Select
OK

Update Provider Name Information
The NPI number associated with the selected provider is found in the NPI registry, but the demographic information in the registry does not match the information present in the Surescripts provider record. Specifically, one or more of the following conditions apply: Last name does not match the registry's Last Name or Other Last Name values First name does not match the registry's First Name or Other First Name values Middle name does not match the registry's Middle Name or Other Middle Name values Note: Middle name is ignored if not present in both the directory and NPI registry. The full middle name is compared if present in both; if not, comparison is limited to the first initial of the middle name. Update Provider Enrollment
You can update a provider's enrollment with retail or mail-order networks. An update might be necessary if information was entered incorrectly or if some of the information has changed. In File Maintenance, from Master Files > System, select Providers. The Providers List window opens. Double-click a provider. The Modify Provider Information window opens. On the Modify Provider Information window, select the ePrescribing tab. In the Networks section, select open menu > Retail or Mail-Order > Update. The eRx Message Submission window opens. Select OK. Update or Modify Provider Demographic Information
You can update or modify the provider demographics information. In File Maintenance, open the provider in the Providers master file. The Modify Provider Information window opens. Select the Demographic tab. Perform one or all of the following: In the E-Mail Address field, enter a valid email address associated with the selected provider. In the Fax field, enter a valid fax number associated with the selected provider. In the Phone field, enter a valid phone number associated with the selected provider. Enter the first name and last name of the selected provider in the First Name and Last Name fields. Modify Provider Information Select the ePrescribing tab. Update Provider Enrollment
You can update a provider's enrollment with Retail or Mail Order networks. An update might be necessary if information was entered incorrectly or if some of the information has changed. To update a provider's enrollment: Access File Maintenance. Open a provider from the Provider master file. Select the ePrescribing tab. Under Networks, select the Open Menu button. Select Retail or Mail Order, and then select Update. The eRx Message Submission window displays. Select OK. Within a few minutes, the values update to reflect any changes that took place. Un-Enroll a Provider from ePrescribing Services
You can remove a provider from the ePrescribing services. You can only un-enroll the providers who are enrolled in retail or mail order for the practice listed in the upper-left corner of the File Maintenance desktop. NextGen File Maintenance In File Maintenance, from Master Files > System, select Providers. The Providers List window opens. Double-click a provider. The Modify Provider Information window opens. On the Modify Provider Information window, select the ePrescribing tab. In the Networks section, select open menu > Retail or Mail-Order > Un-enroll. The eRx Message Submission window states that the request has been submitted and you can check the status in a few minutes. Select OK. The value for SureScripts Provider ID (SPI) or Mail Order Prescriber ID is removed from the system and the value for Un-enrollment Date changes to the current date. Parent topic: Provider Enrollment

Update and Activate the DEA Number
The DEA Number associated with the provider is not found in the current DEA registry. In File Maintenance, open the provider in the Providers master file. The Modify Provider Information window opens. Select the Practice tab. Update the DEA Number. Note: DEA Numbers are two letters followed by seven numbers.
