Open the Patient Information window for the desired patient.
Select the Chart Details tab.
In the Default Rendering Physician field, select a provider to default as the Rendering on new encounters created for the patient.
The encounters are those created from the Patient Chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM and in the Appointment Book from appointments without a rendering provider.
In the Default Referring Physician field, select a provider to default as the Referring on new encounters created for the patient.
The encounters are those created from the Patient Chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM and in the Appointment Book from appointments without a referring provider.
The Print Statements check box is selected by default. Do one of the following:
To include encounters in the patient's chart on statements, select the check box.
To exclude encounters in the patient's chart from statements, clear the check box.
In each User Defined 1-8 field, enter a free-text response, if applicable.
Note: Chart-level user defined fields are labeled in Practice Preferences, Chart.
In the Marketing Plan field, select a chart-level marketing plan for the patient.
Note: Items available for selection are from the Marketing Plans master file in File Maintenance.
Depending on the marketing plan selected, one of the following fields appears:
Physician: Select the physician who referred the patient. This field is required.
Patient: Select the patient who referred the patient. This field is required.
Facility/Location: Select the facility or location that referred the patient. This field is required.
Marketing Data: Enter a free-text note, if applicable.
In the Load these user note descriptions into comment field, select a pre-defined note to be added to the Marketing Comments field.
Note: Items available for selection are from the User Notes Descriptions master file in File Maintenance.
In the Marketing Comments field, enter additional free-text notes about the patient's marketing plan.
To indicate the patient is co-managed by another provider, select the Co-Managed Patient check box.
In the Co-Managed Physician field, select the provider that co-manages the patient. This field is available only if the Co-Managed Patient check box is selected.
To save changes and close the window, select OK.
If chart details information was added for a patient that does not yet have a chart, the following prompt appears: Chart Details Tab data will not be saved unless you create a chart. Create chart and continue?
Do one of the following:
To save all information entered, including Chart Details tab information, and create a chart for the patient, select Yes.
To save all information entered, except Chart Details tab information, without creating a chart for the patient, select No.
To return to the Patient Information window, select Cancel.
