Annotate, Resize, and Rotate Explanation of Benefits Images

When you view the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) images that are linked to transactions in the NextGen® Enterprise PM application, you can annotate and resize the images. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, open an EOB image from a transaction. To annotate, resize, or rotate the EOB image, right-click the image, and then select the command you want from the shortcut menu. To isolate a selected portion of the EOB to include with a claim, select the select mode icon on the image viewer toolbar, and then drag a box over the portion of the EOB image you want to associate with the claim.The application erases the sections at the top and bottom of the image you selected. Note: The application saves the EOB section you select as an annotation to the whole image. To undo the selection, right-click the image, select Annotation, and then select Delete. Create an EOB Document Type

File Maintenance includes an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) document type template that you can apply when you create a document type for EOB batches in NextGen® Document Management. The template automatically assigns EOB-related fields to the document type. Note: To use EOB filing with NextGen® Enterprise PM, a document type with the NextGen EOB template assigned must exist. Open File Maintenance. In Master Files, select System or PM or Document Management, and then select Document Types.The Document Types List window opens. Select the open menu button, and then select New.The Document Type Information window opens. In Document Type Description, enter the name of the document type, making sure the name indicates it is an EOB document type. In Document Type Template, select NextGen EOB as the EOB template you want to apply.The Document Type Information window displays the list of EOB-related fields that comprise the template. You can associate Explanation of Benefits (EOB) batches that you scan or import into NextGen® Document Management with the transaction batches you create in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Associating EOB batches enables you to view the EOB information as you enter payment transactions. Note: To link the current NextGen® Document Management image to the active NextGen® Enterprise PM transaction in EOB Payment Entry window, select Alt+L in NextGen® Enterprise PM when the image you want to link is displayed in the viewer. Open NextGen® Document Management. Scan or import an EOB batch of documents to NextGen® Document Management, and then assign an EOB document type to the batch. Using NextGen® Document Management with Other Applications

When you open a patient image in NextGen® Document Management while NextGen® Enterprise PM or NextGen® Enterprise EHR is open, the patient chart associated with the NextGen® Document Management image opens in the other application. NextGen® Document Management also displays the image of the active patient. This sequence of actions does not occur when you access NextGen® Document Management with Clinical Context Object Workgroup (CCOW). To synchronize with the active patient, you can select Active Patient from the Tasks menu. From NextGen® Document Management, you can open NextGen® Enterprise EHR demographic and MRN templates. You can access images associated with encounters from the list of encounters that appears in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can include images in the workflow. You can right-click a task in the workflow and select the Open Patient's Document option to display the images associated with the task. When you open a patient image in NextGen® Document Management with NextGen® Enterprise PM or NextGen® Enterprise EHR open, the patient chart associated with this image also opens. NextGen® Document Management also displays the search results for that active patient. You can access images associated with encounters from the list of encounters that appears in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. When you access a patient's chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM, any images maintained for the patient within NextGen® Document Management are listed under the NextGen® Document Management topic on the Clinical History/Notes tab of the chart. You can scan fee tickets into the NextGen® Document Management application and then post charges in NextGen® Enterprise PM against the digital images. You can create significant events in NextGen® Document Management and view them in NextGen® Enterprise PM.
