Designate Storage Location for Deleted Files

Before you begin Create a storage location, and then label it as Hard Delete. In NextGen® Document Management, you can provide an opportunity for an administrator or supervisor to review the deleted image and, if necessary, restore it. Open File Maintenance. In Master Files, select System, PM, or Document Management, and then select Practices. The Practices List window opens. In the Practices list, double-click a practice. The Modify Practice Information window opens. Select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. In Preferences List, select Imaging. In Hard Delete Path, select the hard delete storage location that you created, and then select OK to close the Practice Preferences window. Close the Modify Practice Information window, and then close the Practices List window. After you set up the storage location, you must provide deletion permissions to users in the System Administrator. Configure the Duplicate Data Alert Message

You can prevent filing duplicate data when users use the scan & file method. If users try to file documents containing similar items, the Duplicate Alert message appears. To activate this alert, you must configure the settings both at the document type and practice levels. Open File Maintenance. In Master Files, select System, PM, or Document Management, and then select Practices. The Practices List window opens. In the Practices list, double-click a practice. The Modify Practice Information window opens. Select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. In Preferences List, select Imaging. In Filing Options, select Duplicate Check, and then select OK.The Modify Practice Information window appears. Select OK to return to the Practices List window, and then select Close. Configure Refiled PAQ Entries and Image Annotations

You can either delete the original Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) entry or update the status to R (Rejected) when a document with a PAQ entry is refiled. You can send annotations attached with an image while sending that image to a patient account in NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: The refiled PAQ entry can be deleted only when the document is refiled to a document type which does not require a signature and has not been accepted or rejected by the provider. Review the table and complete the following fields: Field Description Document Type Description Enter the name of the document type you want to create. Document Type Template You can select a template that makes pre-configured settings for the Document Type. Import Practice-level Master Files

In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > PM > Payers, and select the applicable payer. On the Modify Practice Information window, selectS the Import tab. Select the practice from which you want to import information, in the Choose Practice to import data from field. To select data to import in the Choose Data to import list, do one of the following: Enable the Master File Type check box. This option selects all of the data types for import. Enable the check boxes for the data types you want to import. Dunning Messages – This option is automatically selected if you select Practice Preferences. Groups – Location information is not imported. Letters – This option is automatically selected when you select Practice Preferences.
