Person Merge Job

You can create a job to automatically perform a NextGen® Enterprise PM Person Merge process. Note: Because the Person Merge process is database intensive, you should schedule NextGen® Background Business Processor to run the merge during off-peak hours. Creating a person merge job requires setup work in both the NextGen® Enterprise PM and the NextGen® Background Business Processor applications. To create a Person Merge job, you must: Create a Person Merge process in the NextGen® Enterprise PM application Send the NextGen® Enterprise PM Person Merge process to NextGen® Background Business Processor Create a Person Merge job for a package in NextGen® Background Business Processor Open or create a package and select the Jobs tab. Select the Open Menu button on the Package Properties window and select New. The Job Properties window opens. After you create a Person Merge job in NextGen® Background Business Processor, you can assign a NextGen® Enterprise PM Person Merge process to a NextGen® Background Business Processor package and job combination. Note: If a NextGen® Enterprise EHR template is assigned to a merge candidate pair after the merge pair is sent to NextGen® Background Business Processor, the following rules apply: If NextGen® Enterprise EHR demographic template is: Added to one (but not both) of the people in the merge pair, NextGen® Background Business Processor keeps the NextGen® Enterprise EHR demographic template. Added to both the people in the merge pair, NextGen® Background Business Processor skips the merge pair and writes a record to the NextGen database. The merge continues with the next merge pair in the merge set. The job is not marked as Failed. Deleted from the system, NextGen® Background Business Processor skips the processing for the deleted template, but processes the remaining templates for

You can merge selected person or patient record pairs through an automated process by sending the person or patient record pairs to a package in NextGen® Background Business Processor that contains a Person Merge job. To start the person merge process, do one of the following: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, from the File menu, select Processes > Person Merge. Merge Demographic Templates

If your facility uses both NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you must select which specific demographic templates from the patients' charts to keep during the merge process. When duplicate patients are merged, all medical records templates for both patients are automatically merged along with all other applicable patient data. The retained record does not include demographic information from the merged patient record.
