The person merge process merges or retains the information of the duplicate records based on your selections in the Person Merge window. To start the person merge process, do one of the following: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, from the File menu, select Processes > Person Merge. In File Maintenance, from the File menu, select Person Merge. A message appears for you to confirm the person merge process. Select Yes. The Person Merge window opens. Review the records to merge. Note: To view additional information for the merge candidates, right-click the patient record, and then select one of the options. Assign Templates View Person View History Select All Deselect All Select the check box in each row that contains patient records to merge. Note: To select all patient rows, right-click the Merge Candidates list, and then select Select All. By default, appears in the Retain and Merge columns for the patient. You can merge selected person or patient record pairs through an automated process by sending the person or patient record pairs to a package in NextGen® Background Business Processor that contains a Person Merge job. You can find specific records that you have identified for merging. The person merge process ignores the search scenario criteria and performs the merge for the specific person or patients selected. To start the person merge process, do one of the following: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, from the File menu, select Processes > Person Merge. In File Maintenance, from the File menu, select Person Merge. A message appears for you to confirm the person merge process. Select Yes. The Person Merge window opens. Select Exact People. The People Lookup - Merge Person 1 window opens. Enter the search criteria for the first person or patient to use in the merge, and then select Find. Select a record in the search result, and then select Open. The People Lookup - Merge Person 2 window opens. Enter the search criteria for the second person or patient to use in the merge, and then select Find. Select the record from the search results, and then select Open. The search for duplicate persons for the person merge process is database intensive and requires large amounts of system resources that can affect all other users on the system. You can run the Person Merge process after business hours. You must ensure that you are the only person logged on to the system. To start the person merge process, do one of the following: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, from the File menu, select Processes > Person Merge. You can merge duplicate person and patient records. The merging process is based on one of several search scenarios that identify potential duplicate person records. After potential duplicates are identified, you can view the person and patient information details, and the practice that is associated with the records. When duplicate patients are merged, all patient information, such as general, status, provider, employer, pharmacy, insurance, immunizations, and contact; chart information; and history are pulled from the merged record and added to the retained record. Patient notifications for the retained person remain during the merge process. For example, if the retained person has patient notifications for a practice, only those patient notifications are displayed after the merge. If your facility uses bothNextGen® Enterprise PMandNextGen® Enterprise EHR, you are required to select which specificNextGen® Enterprise EHRDemographic Templates from the patient's chart to keep during the merge process. When duplicate patients are merged, allNextGen® Enterprise EHRMedical Records Templates for both patients are automatically merged along with all other applicable patient data.
