Documenting Urology Patient Encounters
The Urology User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine is intended for Urology medical professionals, such as providers, nurses, and front office staff, responsible for documenting and processing patient information. You can use NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to document patient encounters in the Urology specialty. The Urology office and virtual visit workflows are documented on the following templates. Intake Histories SOAP Finalize Checkout Before documenting a standard visit, you can configure certain settings to quickly access some templates and features. The common configurations associated with some templates include the setup of task recipients, new links, links in the left navigation bar, and reasons for visit. Some of the common features available in the standard visit template set are the Patient Information Card, panel controls, and links from the navigation bar. Document Urodynamics Procedures
On the Procedure - Urodynamics template, you can document the details of the urodynamics procedure including pre-procedure care, patient response, and procedure findings. On the SOAP template, select the Procedures link. The Procedures template opens. In the Genitourinary section, click Urodynamics. The Procedure - Urodynamics template opens. Procedure - Urodynamics In the Indication for Procedure section, do the following: Click Description, and select the diagnosis. The code is automatically filled. Enter or select the date when the diagnosis is performed. Click Status, and select the diagnosis status from the list. To enter a saved default set, click Quick Load and Save. In the Pre-Procedure Care section, select the appropriate check boxes after explaining the procedure details to the patient. Note: To add more information about the consent, click the Consent link. Document Vasectomy Procedures
On the Procedure - Vasectomy template, you can document the details of the vasectomy procedure including pre-procedure care, anesthesia, procedure findings, and post-procedure and follow-up instructions. On the SOAP template, select the Procedures link. The Procedures template opens. In the Genitourinary section, click Vasectomy. The Procedure - Vasectomy template opens. Procedure - Vasectomy In the Indication section, do the following: Click Description, and select the diagnosis. The code is automatically filled. Click Status, and select the diagnosis status from the list. To enter a saved default set, click Quick Load and Save. In the Pre-Procedure Care section, select the appropriate check boxes after explaining the procedure details to the patient. Note: To add more information about the consent, click the Consent link. In the Anesthetic section, select the anesthesia provided, and then enter the dosage, lot number and expiration date. Select the appropriate check boxes and options

Document Uroflow Procedures
On the Procedure - Uroflow template, you can document the details regarding the patient's urine volume, strength of the urine flow, flow time, and residual urine details. On the SOAP template, select the Procedures link. The Procedures template opens. In the Genitourinary section, click Uroflow. The Procedure - Uroflow template opens. Procedure - Uroflow In the Indication section, do the following: Click Description, and select the diagnosis. The code is automatically filled. Click Status, and select the diagnosis status from the list. To enter a saved default set, click Quick Load and Save. In the Pre-Procedure Care section, select the appropriate check boxes after explaining the procedure details to the patient. Note: To add more information about the consent, click the Consent link. In the Procedure section: Enter the urine volume, flow, and bladder scan details. Enter the name of the physician who performed the procedure and date and time of the procedure. Generate a Consent Report
On the SOAP template, click the Procedures link. The Procedures template opens. Click Consent. The Consent - Procedures template opens. Consent - Procedures Select the name of the provider. Select the relation of the person who gives the consent. Select the procedure type and the procedure date. To schedule the procedure within a short time, select To be scheduled in the near future. To enter a saved default set, click Quick Load and Save. Select the appropriate check boxes of the risks and benefits that are related to the procedure. To enter risks other than the listed check boxes, select Other. Select the appropriate check boxes for the decision taken after having discussion with the consented person. Document Urethral Dilation Procedures
On the Urethral Dilation - Procedure template, you can document the details of the urethral dilation procedure including pre-procedure care, procedure findings, and post procedure details. On the SOAP template, select the Procedures link. The Procedures template opens. In the Genitourinary section, click Urethral Dilation . The Urethral Dilation - Procedure template opens.
