Tobacco Cessation

The Tobacco Cessation sub-navigational link opens the Tobacco Cessation template. You can use the Tobacco Cessation template to document tobacco history details, complete the medication screening questions, select the methods used for tobacco cessation, add assessments, and select and schedule the recommended treatments. The template enables in-depth evaluation and comprehensive documentation of the patient's tobacco use and the methods used for tobacco cessation. The Submit to Superbill button on the template enables you to submit the charges for the template. Note: The Tobacco Cessation template can be used as a stand-alone visit for tobacco cessation for the patients who have medical conditions due to tobacco use. For counseling sessions of less than 3 minutes, you can utilize the Risk Factors Config template to document the tobacco cessation discussed with the patient. Document the Risk Factors

You can document the risk factors for patients. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On a patient encounter, open any of the standard visit templates. (for example, the Intake template. On the template header, select Config. The Risk Factors Config template opens. If the patient has no risk factors, select No risk indicators, and select Save & Close. If the patient has a history of tobacco use, do the following: In the Tobacco section, select Tobacco Usage.The Social History - Tobacco template opens. Note: If the tobacco information is updated on the Screening Summary template or on the Risk Factors Config template, the application automatically fills values on the Social History - Tobacco template. Enter data on the Social History - Tobacco template, and select OK. Select the Tobacco Cessation Discussed link.The Tobacco Cessation Discussed template opens. Enter information about the tobacco cessation discussion, and select Save and Close. Select for quality reporting. Save and close the temp

Select the Risk Factors link. The Risk Factors Config template opens. Overview of the Finalize Template Workflow

You can complete the encounter workflow using the Finalize template. The template enables you to do the following: Calculate all the elements documented in the Intake, Histories, and SOAP templates. Select the Evaluation and Management (E&M) code level for the visit. Submit the E&M coding to the Superbill module. Tobacco Cessation You can use the Tobacco Cessation template to document the patient's tobacco use and the methods used for tobacco cessation. Patient's General Information on Finalize You can view the general details related to finalizing the workflow of the patient in the General panel. Patient's Assessments on Finalize You can view, add, or edit patient assessments in the Today's Assessment panel.
