Review of Dermatology Details by Providers

Review the details documented by the intake staff to determine if any update is required. The information documented by the nursing staff on the Intake template is reflected on the Home Page template for your review. You can update the information on the Intake GET and SOAP templates. NextGen Healthcare recommends that providers begin the visit by reviewing the patient details on the Home Page - Dermatology template. Stage from the Dermatology Skin Cancer History Log

Open a patient chart and launch the Intake template. Select a Specialty of Dermatology and a Visit Type of Office visit. Select Skin Cancer Hx from the Navigation menu. The Skin Cancer History Log template appears. Click Add/Update under the Staging grid. The Cancer Details template appears. Note: You can add and update records from this Staging grid, but you cannot remove records. In the Staging Detail panel, enter the details. Stage from the Dermatology Histories Template

Open a patient chart and launch the Intake template. Select a Specialty of Dermatology and a Visit Type of Office visit. Click the Histories tab to display the Histories template. Scroll to the Skin Cancer Log panel. Click Add under the Staging grid. The Cancer Details template appears. In the Staging Detail panel, enter the details. Skin Cancer Log

If the patient that you selected in the Pathology Orders grid has a history of skin cancer with skin-cancer-related pathology records, those records appear in the grid of the Skin Cancer Log panel. View Derm Patient Path Records for Skin Cancer

Select the specialty Dermatology and perform a search for all pathology order records for a patient. Highlight a record in the Pathology Orders grid. The details of the selected record display in the Pathology Results panel of the Biopsy Log. Navigate to the Skin Cancer Log panel. The Skin Cancer Log grid displays skin cancer history pathology records for the patient, and can be filtered with the Skin cancer history options: To view only the records for untreated cancer, select Skin cancer history: Untreated option. To view only the records for treated cancer, select Skin cancer history: Treated option. To view all records, select Skin cancer history: All option. Parent topic: Skin Cancer Log

Record Skin Cancer History

Open the Histories - Dermatology template. In the Skin Cancer Log panel, in the Treatment History section, click Add. The Skin Cancer History Log - Derm template opens. In the Treated? section, select the N option. Type the year the cancer was diagnosed in the Year of DX field. To select the characteristics of cancer as reported on the pathology report, click Characteristics. In the Accession field , type the accession number from the pathology report. Select the correct specimen id from the Specimen ID list. Note: This is essential if the report includes multiple specimens. To open the Diagnosis template, click Diagnosis, and then locate and select the diagnosis as reported on the pathology report. Select the location where the patient is identified with cancer in the Location field. Select the treatment needed for this patient in the Recommended treatment field. Note: Information about the actual treatment needs to be reported after you have completed the procedure. When you complete
