Section Parameter/Grid Options for Dynamic HPI

Grid Type	Description	Illustration
Single	Displays the findings for a section in a single selection set.
Left/Right	Displays the findings in a two grid set that enables the user to select the same content based on right and left laterality. The symptoms for the left side of the patient’s body are arranged on the left side of the window and symptoms on the right side of the patient's body are arranged on the right side of the window.
Right/Left	Displays the findings in a two grid set that enables you select the same content based on right and left laterality. The symptoms for the left side of the patient’s body are arranged on the right side of the window and symptoms on the right side of the patient's body are arranged on the left side of the of the window.
Group 1/Group 2	Displays Group 1 findings in the left grid and Group 2 findings in the right grid. In this option, values from Group 1 and 2 can be concatenated into one sentence structure with two separate meanings. If the user selects neck and shoulder for Group 1 and lower back for Group 2, the sentence structure is: " the pain radiates from the neck and shoulder, and then to the lower back. Group sentences are selected as two separate sentences that combine into one.

Add a New Section for a Reason HPI

You can create a new section for a dynamic HPI on the Dynamic HPI Config practice template. The sections are based on the reason, specialty, and provider. The section appears under the Reason field in the left pane of the dynamic HPI template. Under Sections, enter a value in the Section Name field. Click the Parameter field to define the number and type of grid used to display the content. Select from the following options: Single Left/Right Right/Left Group 1/ Group 2 See the Dynamic HPI Sections for a detailed explanation of the Parameter options. Select the desired items from the Options field. The selected options appear as radio buttons and/or check boxes on the dynamic HPI template according to selected sequence Click the Information icon to view the available HPI options. Click the EM Coding Element field and select an option from the corresponding list.The application attaches the coding element to the Section and fills the EM Coding Description field automatically. Parameter Values for Selection Types

The following table indicates the picklist values display in the Parameter field on the Dynamic HPI Config practice template based on the Selection Type in the Findings section. When you click... Illustration If you select Group selection, the system displays a Group list. Select the required value. If you select Sub-selection, the Finding Grid Types list appears. These options are similar to the Parameter options in Sections. Select the required value. When you click, Group1/Group 2, provide a title for the Group 1 in the template. After clicking OK, provide a title for Group 2 in the template. If you select the Pop Up option, the system displays the Pop Up list. If you select the clinical data/results option, the system displays the clinical data results list. Select a clinical data result from the list. For example, if you select past medical history, medical, then you need to select a body system from the Body systems list. In the run-time, if the past medical history is available

Physical Therapy Dynamic Parameters

In Physical Therapy, most chief complaints have 24 different parameters that can be used to document information relevant to the patient's chief complaint. Selecting a symptom, such as pain, can add additional parameter links to the left pane so that the symptom can be documented in greater detail. The following table defines all of the parameters available for documenting a Physical Therapy dynamic HPI. Parameter Description Intro Introduction of the patient, with name, age, gender; purpose of this visit, such as evaluation of complaint or follow up. Symptom Laterality view includes the following with grids for right and left sides separately: a list of symptom options to select indicators for indicating which side has greater symptoms or if both sides are equal Onset Non-laterality view, with a single grid to indicate once for both right and left sides, includes a list of onset options to indicate when symptoms or chief complaint began. Selection Types for Dynamic HPI Configuration

The Dynamic HPI Config practice template enables you to build different findings based on the associated sections for each reason of visit in the Findings section. The Selection Type and Parameter field determine how the findings are presented on the dynamic HPI. The Finding Type field determines how the findings are concatenated. You can choose from the following Selection Type options in the Findings grid: HPI Selection Type Description Illustration Standard selection Indicates a single selection. You can use the standard selection option for the details associated with the intro section. For example, name, age, gender, and so on. Group selection Includes Group 1 and Group 2. Each has a different meaning that concatenates into separate sentences. Sub-selection Gives you the ability to drill down to additional selections within a section. Dynamic HPI Templates

The chief complaint options for the side, location, and symptom define the concatenation rules for the chief complaint in run time on the dynamic HPI template.
