Manage the My Phrase

You can update or delete a phrase in the My Phrases grid. You can update or delete a phrase in the My Phrases grid using the Update My Phrase or Delete button respectively. However, these options are disabled for Common Phrases. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the respective template or section, select the My Phrases/ Common Phrases or My Phrases link. The Manage My Phrases/Common Phrases template opens. On the Manage My Phrases/Common Phrases template, select My Phrases. All My Phrases appear in the My Phrases grid. In the My Phrases grid, select a phrase. The selected phrase appears in the Phrase field. Do one of the following: To update a phrase, modify the phrase, and select Update My Phrase. Open Lists of My Phrases and Common Phrases

You can open custom lists called My Phrases/Common Phrases and Common Phrases from different templates. You can see the My Phrases/Common Phrases link in a section if common phrases are available for that section. If common phrases are not available, the My Phrases link appears. If you select either of these links, you can view the Manage My Phrases/Common Phrases template. As an example, the following steps explain how to open My Phrases from the Family Health History template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Histories template. In the Family panel, select Add. The Family Health History template opens. Select a condition and select the Comments link. The Family History Comments template opens. Family History Comments Select the My Phrases link. Copy Phrases from One Provider to Another Provider

You can copy phrases that you have created from one provider to another. This ability enables mid-level providers to access phrases that can promote continuity of care. The My Phrase panel in the Custom DB Picklists system template displays a list of phrases created by the current provider and enables providers to copy the phrases to another provider. Note: In run time, you must add phrases in the Manage My Phrases/Common Phrases template that opens from the My Phrases or My Phrases/Common Phrases link. On the Custom DB Picklists system template, select the My Phrases panel. A list of providers and phrase types appear in the grid. Select a row. NextGen® Enterprise EHR automatically fills the User and Phrase type fields. Insert Existing Phrases

You can insert existing phrases into a section by using the My Phrases/Common Phrases template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On a template, select the My Phrases/Common Phrases or My Phrases link. The Manage My Phrases/Common Phrases template opens. Select My Phrases or Common Phrases. If required, select the Add phrase on one click check box. Note: When you select the Add Phrase on one click check box, you can insert a phrase in a section or template and the check box remains selected for future encounters until you clear the check box. If you want to select more than one phrases, then you must clear the Add Phrase on one click check box. In the My Phrases grid, select one or more phrases. The selected phrase appears in the Phrase field. Select Insert and Close. The phrase is inserted in the respective section. Parent topic: My Phrases and Common Phrases

Search for Commonly Used Phrases

You can search for specific phrases from the existing My Phrases or Common Phrases lists. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Histories template. In the Family panel, select Add. The Family Health History template opens. Select a condition and select the Comments link. The Family History Comments template opens. Family History Comments Select the My Phrases link. The Manage My Phrases/Common Phrases template opens. Do one of the following: Select My Phrases, then select Summary or Phrase. Note: Both is selected by default. With the Both selected, you can search for a specific phrase from the entire My Phrases list. To search a specific common phrase, select Common Phrases. In the search field, enter at least three characters of the phrase, and then select Search. The search result appears in the grid below the search field. Parent topic: My Phrases and Common Phrases

Add Phrases Commonly Used in Templates

You can add phrases to the My Phrases/Common Phrases lists. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the respective template or panel, select the My Phrases/ Common Phrases or My Phrases link. The Manage My Phrases/Common Phrases template opens. Select My Phrases. Select My phrase type. In My phrase summary, enter a brief description of the phrase. In the Phrase field, enter the phrase. Note: The Characters left to insert label indicates the number of characters remaining in the Phrase field. You can enter a maximum of 1000 characters in this field. Select Create My Phrase.
