Opting Out of Recommended Care

You can choose recommended care options for a patient on the Care Guideline Setup template. If you do not want to follow recommended care items of a certain type that are part of a guideline, you can choose to opt out. When you choose to opt out, the recommended care guideline items never apply. You do not see them displayed on the Care Guidelines Paged View or Care Guidelines grid view templates in runtime, or follow them for a patient. care_guideline_setup If you do not want to see any recommended care in runtime on the Care Guidelines templates, you can select both Opt out of Recommended Care (meds) and Opt out of Recommended Care (non-meds) check boxes, and only orderable tests apply and display. Filter Displayed Guideline Item Using the Check Box

You can filter displayed guideline item that is active for a patient using the check box. You can filter guideline items displayed in the Care Guidelines panel for the guidelines active for the patient using the check boxes in the Show secion. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. In the Show section, select one of the following check boxes: Orderables Recommended care (medication) Recommended care (non-medication) By default, all Show check boxes are selected. All active care guideline items appear on the panel. Care Guidelines Paged View If you opt out recommended care meds or non-meds on the Care Guidelines Setup practice template, the corresponding recommended care items do not apply. Recommended Care Practice Template

The Recommended Care practice template enables you to create or modify recommended care guidelines for your practice. These care guidelines are based on chronic conditions. When a chronic condition is added to a patient's chart, the associated care guidelines display in the Care Guidelines template. You create these care guidelines using the Recommended Care practice template. The guideline may include specific goals, statuses and compliance items. recommended_care_template When you select a row in the Recommended Care grid, the associated goal, status and compliance details appear in the corresponding grids on the right. Goals: Provides parameters for a patient to meet when following a particular guideline. Status: Provides status for a guideline to determine if it is a new guideline or existing one that might be changed. Compliance: Provides options to determine if the patient follows the recommended care guideline. Note: Prior to creating the care guidelines, you must set up all the

Order Diagnostic Tests by AUC Score

You can generate the Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) for diagnostic tests. Before you begin You must configure the AUC in File Maintenance and map them in the Care Guidelines Setup practice template for a patient to generate an AUC score for an advanced imaging test and then place the appropriate order. In the Practice Configuration practice template, you must ensure that the Enable Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) Rules check box is selected and the Enable Order Module check box is not selected. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On a patient encounter, open any of the standard visit templates (for example, the Intake) template. On the template header, select the Care Guidelines link. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines grid, select a diagnostic test. The AUC Score Wizard opens. Setting Up Recommended Care Guideline Items

You can set up the recommended care guideline item using the Recommended Care practice template. After you have reviewed the custom DB picklists used by recommended care guidelines for content, recommended care guidelines themselves should be reviewed. Recommended care guideline items are reviewed and maintained on the Recommended Care practice template. Open the Recommended Care Practice Template You can access the Recommended Care practice template using the Care Guideline Setup practice template. Grids and Fields on the Recommended Care Practice Template You can build a recommended care guideline using the grids and fields on the Recommended Care practice template. Care Guidelines Setup

On the Care Guidelines Setup template, you can set up the guideline test items. Care guidelines consist of orderable items (previously known as protocols) and recommended care items. Some guideline items are performed within a specific time interval, indicated by a date in the Due column. Items with due dates are ordered, and items without a due date are listed as a reminder to review them with the patient and update their status without having to place orders. Before you use the Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines templates, you must review and ensure that the guidelines that come with the application meet the needs of the practice. For configuration, care guidelines are divided into orderable and recommended items. Using the Care Guidelines Setup practice template, you can set up orderable items.
