Understanding Quick Note Functionality

When using the Quick Notes feature, you can only apply one Quick Note at a time. If you apply a Quick Note, then subsequently apply a second one, the data associated with the second Quick Note set overwrites all existing data in the template. Using a Quick Note Default Set

Once you have created the Quick Notes default template sets for your practice, you can use the defaults sets to quickly fill the templates with your default set values. The following guidelines apply when using Quick Notes: The current Specialty must match the specialty defined for the Quick Note. The Quick Note overwrites any data in the templates. Data Included in Quick Notes

When you create a Quick Note for the SOAP template, the system saves: Reason for Visit with the HPI Review of Systems Physical Exam Assessment / Plan When you apply a Quick Note, patient-specific information is not impacted. The provider must review and add patient specific details to all areas of the SOAP template, including the Reason for Visit, Review of Systems, and Physical Exam and Assessment / Plan. It is highly recommended that you add unique details to the Plan Details that are specific to this patient and this encounter. Plan Details is a tab in the My Plan template set. Disable the Quick Note Functionality

You can disable a Quick Note functionality for your practice. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Practice Configuration Template User Guide forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine. Click the File menu and select System\Practice Template. On the Practice tab, scroll down to double-click the Practice Configuration template. If the list does not include the Practice Configuration template, select the All radio button, and scroll down the list again. The Practice Configuration template appears. Scroll-down to the Quick Note section. Quick Note Note: The sections are in alphabetic order. Select the Disable Quick Note check box. Click Save and Close. Save a Quick Note

The ability exists to save the current SOAP template as a Quick Notes default set. The information button at the top-left corner of the Quick Save template provides information on how to use this template to add, update, and remove a Quick Save default set. On the SOAP template, click the Quick Notes: Save button. The Quick Save template opens. Quick Save Note: The Options panel is grayed out. Enter the name of the default set in the Save As field. NextGen Healthcare recommends entering a name in the <your initial> <gender> <default name> format. For example, AK_female_Asthma HPI. Note: For gender specific defaults, use 'male' or 'female'. Select the appropriate speciality option: All Specialties - is set as the default. This option sets the Quick Save settings available across all specialties. Current Specialty Only - This option sets the Quick Save settings available only in the specialty currently open. Click Save & Close to save the default and close the Quick Save template. The Qu
