Add or Update NPI Numbers

You can modify or update the NPI number associated with the selected provider. In File Maintenance, open the provider in the Providers master file. The Modify Provider Information window opens. Select the System tab. Verify the NPI number displayed in the National Provider ID field and make modifications if required. Modify Provider Information Select the ePrescribing tab. In the Networks section, select open menu . Select Retail > Enroll. The EPrescribing Message Submission confirmation window appears. Select OK. Parent topic: National Provider ID Issues

Add Practice Care Team

You can create a practice care team and add members to the team from the Practice Team Configuration panel of the Care Team Configuration template. To create a practice care team, you must add at least one member to the care team and there is no restriction on the maximum number of members that you can add. You can add two types of participants to a practice care team: Clinical professional and Agency/Organization. From the Care Team Configuration template, enter the care team name. Care Team Configuration template Select a care team status.By default, the status of the care team is Active. To update the active and inactive date and time of the practice care team, enter the details in the corresponding fields.By default, the active date and time is the current date and time. To add the member details, specify the participant type and do one of the following: Add the member from NPI Registry lookup. Additional Billing Provider Information

The following table provides additional information on billing providers for an alternate payer. Field Description Taxonomy Code The taxonomy code you select on the Alt Payer Carve Out Criteria window overrides the taxonomy code you selected in the Groups master file. Provider Number This is the facility location provider number. National Provider ID This setting overrides the group-level NPI for alternate payer claims. If this field is blank, then the group NPI is used. Note: NPI is a standard unique identifier for health care providers and is used in filing and processing healthcare claims and other transactions. In-Line Edits Payer ID The in-line edits payer ID identifies the client and payer that represents a set of edits done from the NextGen In-line Edits engine. Note: The in-line edits payer ID supports 13 characters. The first 6 characters denote the client ID and the last 7 characters denote the payer ID.
