DSM IV Configuration

Your practice has the option of displaying the DSM IV link on the Assessment/Diagnosis panel to document encounters according to the DSM IV manual. This configuration can be enabled on the Practice Configuration template or the Document Configuration practice template. The settings applied on either practice template are shared and do not need to be repeated. Once enabled, the link is made available on the Assessment/Diagnosis panel found throughout the Behavioral Health template set. Billing Configuration for Behavioral Health

The billing configurations for service codes are accomplished on the Service Code Mapping system template and in File Maintenance: Service code mapping on the system template Provider level configuration in the practice preferences Service Code Mapping Provider Level Field on Service Code Mapping Substance Use Disorder Disclosure in Documents and Reports You can include the disclosure for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) 42 CFR Part 2 provisions in the generated documents and reports. DSM Options for Behavioral Health Documents

A practice-level setting is available on both the Practice Configuration and Document Configuration templates to determine which set of data (DSM IV or DSM-5) prints on generated documents. The settings applied on either practice template are shared and do not need to be repeated. Selecting the option to Display axes (DSM IV) in the Assessment/Diagnosis section of the Behavioral Health documents ensures that any information recorded on the BH - DSM IV template is included in the generated document for each encounter. Optimize Usage of Behavioral Health Templates

There is some setup involved to optimize usage of the Behavioral Health templates. In the Behavioral Health Configuration Options chapter, you learn that some of the setup is required and other parts are optional. The three main components required to successfully bill a Behavioral Health encounter are: Service code mapping Provider-level set up in two master files in File Maintenance Service Categories master file configuration There are optional settings on the Practice Configuration template that are specific to the Assessment/Diagnosis and Signatures panels. Other configurations that are not required apply to the Home Page – Behavioral Health template. The practice can elect to open the home page by default for every new encounter and can also decide which links appear on the Medical Chart Summary panel.
