My Plan vs. My Custom Plan to Create a Treatment Plan

If configured, the My Plan tab houses an enriched plan template called My Custom Plan, which can be used to document a treatment plan that is personalized to suit your practice's specific needs. The custom plan functionality is configured as a grid for order sets, replacing the need to manually select a check box for each order to be placed. The individualized fields available on the original My Plan require manual selection of every order needed for a particular diagnosis. The purpose for the My Custom Plan template is to reduce the number of clicks required for ordering while maintaining the process for managing order sets and provider plans. The My Custom Plan template still takes a personalized approach to diagnosis-based order sets. The custom plan template simply uses a more streamlined user interface. Enter and View Diagnoses on My Custom Plan

Orders can only be created after an assessment is designated for the encounter. On the My Custom Plan template, My Plan panel, do one of the following actions: Next to Diagnosis Selection, select the desired search option (Today's Assessments or Clinical Problems) to highlight the assessment in the grid. Click the Dx Search link to open the diagnosis search window. Search for and highlight the correct diagnosis. Click Select to return to My Custom Plan. Click Add/Edit Assessment or Add/Edit Problems below the grid (depending on the search option selected) to add as many assessments and/or clinical problems as is required. Click Save & Close to return to My Custom Plan. Note: There are five diagnoses or four clinical problems immediately visible in the grid with the option to scroll down to view all of the entered data. Filter Pending Orders

Open the My Custom Plan template. In the My Plan panel, Pending Orders section, click the View field to filter items in the grid by a selected plan type. Plan Types

Individual orders are grouped into plan types that appear in the Order Options section of the My Custom Plan template. The plan type for Order Set appears in the Order Options section on the My Custom Plan template. Upon selection, all of the orders from every plan type appear, making it possible for any order in the Order Set type to be moved to the Pending Orders grid with one click or for individual orders to be entered on row select. A Disposition field and the option to mark it as Refused are available at the bottom of the My Plan panel for easier access. In previous versions of the My Custom Plan template, disposition was available as a plan type. Pending Orders Note: You can manage the Lab and Diagnostics plan types in the NextGen Compendium. Set Orders to Automatically Move to Pending Orders on Row Select

On My Custom Plan Setup template, General Configuration panel, select Add on Row Select. My Plan Config When Add on Row Select is turned on here, the following plan types on the My Custom Plan template automatically populate to Pending Orders when you select a row: Lab Orders Diagnostics Office Medications Office Procedures Office Supplies Office Labs Instructions Referrals Guidelines Click Save in the NextGen® Enterprise top toolbar.
