Options for Managing Links

Option	Description
Show all custom links	Reveals all available configured link values in the grid. Other filters can be applied to refine the grid listing.
Chief complaint to HPI pop up to launch	The configured links appear in the resulting list from the History of Present Illness (HPI) section of the Framework Content template, where you can then configure which items display in the Reason for Visit panel in runtime. For more information on how to set up the panel, refer to the Framework Content System Template for NextGen Adaptive Content Engine document available on NextGen Healthcare Success Community.
Family Histories	The configured family history link displays when the patient's history is selected on the History template in runtime.
Med Surg Histories	The configured link displays when the patient's past medical or surgical history is selected in the Medical/Surgical/Interim panel in runtime.
Physical Exam picklist value to launch template	The configured links appear in the resulting list from the Physical Exam section of the Framework Content template, where you can then set up which items display in the Physical Exam panel in runtime. Procedure code to detail pop up to launch	The configured link prompts the selected procedure detail template to launch when a procedure is ordered and completed in the All Order Management template in runtime. Procedure picklist value to launch template	The configured link prompts the selected procedure template to launch when a specified procedure is selected in All Order Management template in runtime.

Create and Manage Custom Links

The Manage Custom Links practice template enables you to create additional values in the Reason for Visit and Physical Exam lists used in the Framework Content system template. System and Practice Templates Used for Ophthalmology Configuration

System and practice templates allow clients to configure different functions and features of the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to meet their own preferences without having to make customizations to templates using Template Editor. The following templates are used for configurations by all specialties: Field Description Framework Content System-level template used for configuring content and navigation on the Framework Template Set and specialty template sets based on the Framework templates. Practice Configuration Practice-level template used for configuring practice preferences for the functioning of important features throughout the system by selecting from options currently available. Patient's History Summary

You can add, update, delete, and review a patient's history summary details from the History Summary panel. You can document a patient's history information in the History Summary panel in the following categories: Past Medical/Surgical Interim Social Family Diagnostic History Summary The Social Determinants of Health and PRAPARE® links appear based on the settings in the PRAPARE® section of the Practice Configuration template. Social Determinants of Health enables the documentation of social, behavioral, and psychological data for the patient. Link Procedure and Dynamic HPI Content

In the Procedure HPIs panel, you can create a link between procedures created in the Procedure Setup panel and the dynamic HPI content configured in the Dynamic HPI Config practice template. If you select the Use configured HPI from manage custom links instead of DHPI check box in the Procedure HPIs panel, in run time, the dynamic HPI template does not open for the procedure that is linked to a static HPI template on the Manage Custom Link practice template. In run time, after you document procedure details in the Procedure panel in the framework templates, the documented procedure details linked to the dynamic HPI upload to the grid of the Reason for Visit panel. Link Chief Complaint to the Dynamic HPI Template

On the *Configuration Home system template, click Manage Template Links in the Configuration Navigation pane. On the Manage Custom Links template, click Link to and select Chief complaint to HPI pop up to launch from the list. Note: If you select the Show all custom links in the Link to field, all the filters are cleared. Enter the reason that you have created in the Chief Complaint field. Click the Popup to field. Select the hpi_dyn_right_left_unilat option to create a dynamic HPI and then click OK. Select the Gender field and select a gender to which the custom link is applicable. Click the Age field and select from the all, adult, or peds options to designate which age group the custom link is applicable to. Click the Specialty field to select the applicable specialty, and then click OK. Note: It is recommended that a single entry be created for an HPI and tied to a specialty.
