Button/Icon	Description
AOE	To manage Ask on Order Entry (AOE) questions, click AOE icon on lab master and then AOE on Process and Submit Lab/Radiology template.
	To set up a new quick tasking action, click the cog to open the Quick Task Setup template.
Quick Task	To select the priority of and/or send the task to a pre-configured recipient for any further action, click Quick Task. Place a Lab Order with Bypass Orders Module Processing Off

Click the Labs tab. The Lab Master template opens. Document an assessment. In the Perform section, click one of the following template links: Lab Master template Perform section with lab test links Chemistry Microbiology Other Tests Tumor Markers Office Labs Serology Urine Chemistries Hematology OB Labs Therapeutic Levels The template for the selected lab type opens. Note: These lab templates share the current working assessment. On the lab template, do the following: Verify or select an ordering assessment. Select the test(s). Click Save & Close. Click Place Order on the Lab Master template. Each test appears in the Order grid with a status of ordered, the ordered date, the name of the lab study, and the diagnosis. Select an ordered lab and then click the Lab/Radiology Order Processing link. The Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template opens and shows.the order type, the preferred vendor, priority, and billlng type. If a preferred vendor does not appear or you want to change t

Place an Order for Lab or Diagnosis in the Care Guidelines Template

Review the guideline items in the Care Guidelines panel at each encounter. Items with status due are the items that can be ordered, such as labs and diagnostic studies. Highlight a guideline item to be ordered in the grid. Details for the guideline populate in the respective fields above the grid. Click the Order button. The item's status is updated to display ordered and the Action field display the date ordered. If you have recommended care items in the grid, select a recommended care in the grid. Do any of the following: In the Goal field, type a goal for the patient. Click the blue down-arrow and select a goal from the list. Click the Status field and select the status of the recommended care. Click the Action field and select the action performed for the recommended care. After placing orders for labs and radiology diagnostic studies, it is important to process the orders by selecting which lab or radiology facility will perform each test and submit the orders to the Orders Module

Process Lab Orders

You can process lab orders from the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Expand the Today's Orders panel. Select the Lab/Radiology Order Processing link.The Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template opens. Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template Select Labs or Radiology. Select the Vendor field, and select the vendor name from the list. Select the Unsubmitted option. In the Today's Orders grid, select the row for the order.The Include selected order button appears. To move the order to the Orders for Selected Vendor section, select Include selected order. To answer any questions associated with the orders, select AOE. Document Details of Lab Tests

You can document the details of lab tests to order them for a patient. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Single Order. Expand the Labs panel. Select one of the following options: Internal for lab tests performed and billed in your practice on the same day. External for lab tests performed and billed at an external facility. From Performing Entity, select the entity performing the lab test. Optional: Select the priority. Note: By default, R - Routine appears in Priority. Select one of the following options to filter the test grid: To display your custom list of configured tests, select My Tests. To display all configured standard tests, select All Tests. To display the custom list of tests configured for another provider, select Others, and then select the provider's name.
