Configure Lab Completed Statuses

On the Data Sets Setup template, select Data Set and select Lab Completed Status. The existing data set items associated with the Lab Completed Status data set appear in the grid. Lab Completed Status data set Select Add. The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens. Template Data Sets Setup If applicable, select Diagnosis description to search and select a diagnosis. The associated diagnosis code automatically populates. If applicable, select Provider and select a provider from Dbp Rendering Provider. Select Lab Name and select the lab vendor. The Lab ID field populates with the vendor ID associated with selected lab vendor. The Lab ID or the Vendor ID is configured in File Maintenance. In Status, enter a status that is considered as the final status when the final lab result is sent by the selected lab vendor. Select Save, and then select Close. The newly configured data set item appears in the Data Sets Setup template. Note: To add another item, select Clear For Add in

Remove Lab Completed Status Data Set Items

Configure Lab Statuses and Incomplete Tests

You can configure lab statuses as final and incomplete results by using the Lab Status/Incomplete Test Configuration template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel, and then in the File Maintenance Mappings section, select the Lab Status / Incomplete Test Configuration link. The Lab Status/Incomplete Test Configuration window opens. Note: To filter the configurations, you can select the Status, Incomplete Result, and Removed/Deleted records only options. Select Lab vendor from the list. Enter the details in Test status to be included. Add comments about the test result. To record the details, select Add. Lab Completed Status

You can identify if a lab test is completed by lab vendor on which care guidelines rely. Lab vendors use certain words or phrases to indicate the test completion. To determine if a test is completed, you need to identify the vendor’s name and the wording used by the vendor when the test result is final. For example, lab corp may use the term complete to indicate that the results are available, while quest may use done. Care guidelines relies on the predetermined verbiage to identify a test as completed. If the status of the result is not consistent with the configured verbiage (for example, interim), then the test is not considered as completed in care guidelines, and it is shown as due. Configure Resulted Lab Tests

The configured lab result appears in the Result Details picklist for Order Management. OpenNextGen® Enterprise EHR. From theFilemenu, selectSystem \ Practice Template. TheSelect Templatewindow opens. Select Configuration Home, and then click OK. The Custom DB Picklist template opens. Select Coded lab order result DB picklist. Click Configure. The Custom DBPicklist Setup window, the grid displays the existing code system, code value, and result. To add the code system and its value, do the following: Click Add New List Item. The Add button is enabled. To add a code system, enter the code type in the Code System field. To add the result details, enter the appropriate value in the Result field. To add code value, enter the numeric value in the Code Value field. Click Add. The added lab result details appear in the grid. To update a record, select and edit the record, and then click Update. Place an Order for Lab or Diagnosis in the Care Guidelines Template

Review the guideline items in the Care Guidelines panel at each encounter. Items with status due are the items that can be ordered, such as labs and diagnostic studies. Highlight a guideline item to be ordered in the grid. Details for the guideline populate in the respective fields above the grid. Click the Order button. The item's status is updated to display ordered and the Action field display the date ordered. If you have recommended care items in the grid, select a recommended care in the grid. Do any of the following: In the Goal field, type a goal for the patient. Click the blue down-arrow and select a goal from the list. Click the Status field and select the status of the recommended care. Click the Action field and select the action performed for the recommended care. After placing orders for labs and radiology diagnostic studies, it is important to process the orders by selecting which lab or radiology facility will perform each test and submit the orders to the Orders Module
