You can generate the intake note for a patient using Generate Intake Note on the Intake template. Before you begin You must complete all the intake activities before generating the intake note. You can generate the intake note as a written summary of the encounter from the intake staff or medical assistant. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. Select Generate Intake Note. You can search for and generate a document for a patient encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From Top Toolbar, select the Documents icon. The Generate Document window opens. You can review, update, remove, or restore clinical narratives using the Clinical Narratives template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Templates module, select Clinical Narratives, and then select a note type. The Clinical Narratives template opens. Note: You can view the clinical narratives of the current encounter in the Current Visit Narratives grid. You can view the clinical narratives of all encounters in the All Narratives panel. To update a clinical narrative, do the following: Select the clinical narrative from the Current Visit Narratives grid. Edit the Narrative field. Select Update. To remove a clinical narrative, do the following: Select the clinical narrative from the Current Visit Narratives grid. Select Remove. To restore a removed clinical narrative, do the following: Select the Removed records option. Select the clinical narrative you want to restore from the Current Visit Narratives grid. Select Add. You can generate patient documents in NextGen® Enterprise EHR on the workstation you are logged on to or offline on a remote workstation. Before generating a particular document, make sure that you have selected a patient. Also you can check that all the relevant data is entered into the patient medical record. You can select options to save or print a patient document or send it to a patient account on NextGen® PxP Portal website when it is generated. You can create documents in two other ways: A template may be configured with a Launch Document trigger that you can execute to generate a document. Use NextGen® Enterprise EHR Quick View feature to generate a document in real time as you work on a patient encounter. You can then save and attach the document to the patient chart. Patient documents in NextGen® Enterprise EHR can be a medical or lab report, a referral form, a professional letter, or any other custom-designed form. You can generate new patient documents from previously created user-defined format documents in the Document Builder. When a patient document is generated, macros in format documents insert data from selected template fields. A patient document can be created locally or remotely on a remote workstation. The patient documents are attached to the applicable encounter in the patient's chart. The patient's chart may also contain documents created outside Document Builder. Third-party documents are imported through the NextGen® Interface Engine Document Import Agent. NextGen® Health Information Exchange (HIE) and Continuity-of-Care (CCD) documents are attached to the NextGen® HIE Documents Category of the Categories tab.
