General Workflow for Mohs Surgery

The general workflow for the Mohs surgery process includes the following tasks.

  1. An office encounter during which the lesion is identified as potentially cancerous and a biopsy is ordered.
  2. A biopsy encounter during which the biopsy is performed.
  3. A chart encounter during which pathology results are documented and added to the Skin Cancer History Log. When recording pathology results for skin cancer, you specify recommended treatment as Mohs surgery. The patient is also notified during this step.
  4. A Mohs surgery encounter during which the procedure and optionally a repair are performed and the results are recorded.
  5. A post-surgical encounter.
