Configure Sensitive Encounters

You can configure a sensitive encounter for specific data elements for a patient using the Sensitive Information Configuration template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Practice Configuration, and then select OK. In the Sensitive Encounters section, select Configure Sensitive Encounter. The Sensitive Encounter Configuration template opens. configuring_sensitive_encounter In Location and Code System, select the value from the list. Enter the description and any additional information for the selected record, and then select Add. The record is added in the data grid. Optional: To import the sensitive codes from Data Share Module (DSM), select Import. The DSM Ind column in the data grid indicates whether the code is imported. Select Save and Close. Automatically Flag Sensitive Encounters in the ICD Code System

Before you begin To flag encounters as sensitive, you must select the Enable Sensitive Encounter checkbox on the Practice Configuration template. To add data elements for the code system, you must configure the Sensitive Encounter Configuration template. For more information on how to configure data elements, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Practice Configuration Template User Guide forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient record, and then create an encounter. Open the Intake template, and then select a specialty and visit type. Open the Finalize template, and then in the Today's Assessment panel, select Add. The Add or Update Assessment template opens. Select Diagnosis Code lookup, enter the code in the search result, and select Search. Select the applicable ICD code, and select Select. Set Up Sensitive Flags for Fields

Before you begin You must configure a field as sensitive in a customized template using the Template Editor, and change the kbm.sensitive_ind field value to True. For more information on how to configure a field, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Templates User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates .
