Overview of the Finalize Template Workflow

You can complete the encounter workflow using the Finalize template. The template enables you to do the following: Calculate all the elements documented in the Intake, Histories, and SOAP templates. Select the Evaluation and Management (E&M) code level for the visit. Submit the E&M coding to the Superbill module. Tobacco Cessation You can use the Tobacco Cessation template to document the patient's tobacco use and the methods used for tobacco cessation. Patient's General Information on Finalize You can view the general details related to finalizing the workflow of the patient in the General panel. Patient's Assessments on Finalize You can view, add, or edit patient assessments in the Today's Assessment panel. E and M Level Summary You can view the summary of a patient's history, exam levels, and coding points for the Evaluation and Management (E&M) code calculation under the 95 or 97 Coding Guidelines in the E&M Level Summary panel. The Finalize Template Workflow

You can do the following on the Finalize template: Submit and review the plan of care, based on your role, on the Provider Sign Off panel. Document Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes on the Evaluation and Management Coding panel. Calculate the patient's medical-decision-making level and submit the E&M codes to the Superbill module. Review the patient's history and physical examination details on the E&M Level panel and identify factors in the calculation of the E&M code under the 95 or 97 Coding Guidelines. Cardiology Provider Workflow on the Finalize Template

The Finalize template allows you to document various patient findings. You can use the Finalize - Cardiology template to do the following. Document assessments, medical decision making, counseling details, and Evaluation and Management (EM or E&M) coding. Submit codes for billing. Open a patient support case, visit document, and referral thank-you letter. Evaluation and Management Coding You can use three types of guidelines to calculate the Evaluation and Management code for Cardiology. Generate Documents You can generate and print various patient documents such as patient support cases, visit documents, referral thank-you letters, and provider communications on the Finalize - Cardiology template. Finalize Tab for Ophthalmic Providers

You can calculate E&M coding and submit charges to billing on the Finalize - OPH template. In Ophthalmology, providers can choose to use the '97 or the 2021 E&M Code calculation or one of the codes specific to Ophthalmology referred to as Eye Codes. Prior to submitting codes to the Superbill, you can link procedures to an appropriate diagnosis, and select whether to bill for an encounter that was procedures only or an encounter where no procedures were performed. You can review E&M coding calculations and override, if appropriate, and bill for counseling services. Effective January 1, 2021, the E&M code is automatically selected based on the 2021 E&M Coding Guidelines, in which Medical Decision Making (MDM) complexity level or the total time spent with patient care and documenting the encounter is used to determine the code level.
