Select the Enable Order Module Setting

Orders/Plans

The Orders/Plans section enables you to configure the following: Medical Necessity - If you select the Enable Medical Necessity check box, the medical necessity verification process turns on. During the process, the medical necessity check is activated, and the fields required to use the medical necessity feature while placing the orders also appear. The medical necessity fields appear on the My Plan, My Custom Plan, Labs, Diagnostic, and Office Procedures templates. Note: The Medical Necessity application must be licensed and installed to perform the medical necessity check in run time. The Medical Necessity application is useful to determine if procedures will be covered as medically necessary. Setting Up to Place Orders Directly from the Order Module

You can set up the place orders for guideline of the patient from the Order module. You can directly place orders for lab and radiology guideline items from the Order module by selecting the Enable Order Module setting in the Orders/Plans section of the Practice Configuration practice template. Selecting the Enable Order Module setting configures the Care Guidelines Paged View template to open the Order module whenever the check box for a guideline orderable item is selected. You can then place orders for the guideline item from the Order module. When you save the changes, the Order module closes and returns to the workflow on the Care Guidelines Paged View template. The status of the guideline item is updated to ordered and the date ordered displays below the Status field. Place an Order for a Lab or Radiology Guideline Item Using the Order Module

You can place an order for a lab or radiology guideline item on the Order module. You can order lab and radiology orderable guideline items that are due from the Order module when the Enable Order Module setting in the Orders/Plans section on the Practice Configuration practice template is selected. Home Page The information on how to configure the Care Guidelines Paged View template to enable the direct placement of orders for guideline items from the Order module is as below: Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Care Guidelines Paged View template, review orderable guideline items active for the patient. Items that are due or past due display the date in red font Items that are due in the future display a date in black font Select the check box to the left of the lab or radiology guideline item you want to order. Bypassing Orders Module Processing

If your practice has configured Bypass Order Module Processing on the My Custom Plan Setup template, you can avoid processing an order through the Orders module using the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template. When you click Place Order, the application updates the item in all order grids on NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Framework templates. You can see orders that were placed on any of the lab templates that were opened from the Labs tab in the Pending Orders section.
